Dynasty Warriors has been a long standing favorite of mine in the hack and slash / button masher genre.

Genji: Dawn of Samurai is a great one. Not only do you have hack & slash action, but special time-based attacks that give you massive damage bonuses for timing counter-attacks. It's definitely worth getting if you can find it.
