Dear Capcom,

The recent news of Resident Evil 4 being ported to the Playstation 2 console, while potential a good business stategy, has caused quite a stir for Gamecube owners worldwide. A lot of Gamecube owners feel "cheated" as they were constantly assured that the game would be exclusive to the Gamecube console.

This petition is not here to prevent your company from porting Resident Evil 4 to the Playstation 2 console, but rather, to ask that Capcom port a few key Playstation 2 titles to the Gamecube. It's only fair to Gamecube owners who have been cheated 3 times already out of exclusive titles by Capcom (Viewtiful Joe, Killer 7, Resident Evil 4). In Viewtiful Joe's case, the game also featured extra features on the Playstation 2 console.

Your company will also broaden your franchises appeal by bringing them to a console that has been strongly supportive of your games in the past.

The key franchises we would like to see ported on the Gamecube are:

Devil May Cry
Onimusha
Maximo
Street Fighter

Thank you for your time

Sincerely,

The Undersigned

If you sign, don't forget to mention that they should also put Okami on the Gamecube.

Wow...when did that happen?
If I was Nintendo, I'd be quite irritated with Capcom now. Even so...I doubt they can do anything about it.

signed.

They should make some of those other games available on the Gamecube as well....
They are "taking advantage of Nintendo."

In fact, that move they did with RE4 is RIDICULOUS. I knew it would happen. But I think they took advantage of Nintendo. Not just because they are making the game available to the Ps2... but because they specifically stated it would be Nintendo only... and Nintendo was marketing RE4 in that manner too. Now Nintendo has to eat their words.

That just as bad as a scam.

Yes, I thought so too. But money talks, I guess.

Anyway, I just thought I'd mention that I didn't create the petition. I'm just trying to spread the word. ;)

I really don't think it's that big of a deal. Sure, Capcom should of kept their promise, but on the other hand i'm glad that RE4 can spread out to a wider audience because let's face it, a Cube audience just isn't enough. Besides, it'll be Cube exclusive for almost a year, and of course the Cube will still have the way better looking version, so anyone that has both consoles and a brain will choose the Cube version.

I think games should be "exclusive" to certain consoles, but still appear on PC. There's lots of people that might not have every console to play some of those games on, and prefer the ease of modding and better online support on a PC.

yeah... it'll definitely look better on the cube since it'll be ported to the PS2 :lol
j/k

it will look better though.

PLus.. IMO the Cube controller works too well with the RES series.

If Capcom would not have stated it would be Cube Exclusive and then take it back..... I wouldn't care if RE was multiplatform or not. BUT I am just mad in the way they stated one thing, then another.

Yeah well, money talks and....you know what walks.

I agree that RE games play better on the Cube though, the controller's almost perfect for them.

the cube controller is awesome for many games (even sports) I am not sure why people complain about it..

Sports games? I don't think so...

Have you ever tried playing NBA Street on the PS2 controller, and then try playing it for the GC? Its absolutely brutal, the whole turbo system has to be completely redesigned and it still doesn't feel right. Madden, no comparison, PS2 controller all the way. NBA Live, PS2 once again. Plus, in general I think the PS2 controller just makes more sense. It's basically an updated Snes controller, which is a great idea. The giant A button on the GC controller is too much of a "panic" button, and the b button is too hard to find in "panic" situations. The analog shoulder buttons are a joke, the c-stick is just a ripoff of dual analog, y and x are too similar to distinguish at first and take some getting used to, the d-pad is way too small and the z-button really shouldn't even be part of the controller. I guess the only things I really think are positive about the GC controller is the joystick and the start button, maybe the quality of the cord too...

I do own NBA Street, Madden, FiFA, NCAA, NHL, Red Card Soccer, NHL Hitz, Nascar, F1, and a bunch of other games for the Gamecube. I have NO PROBLEMS what-so-ever doing the moves for NBA street on the Gamecube controller.

I had no problems switching. My friend owns a Ps2 and we played that game a few times on there..... as you know it didn't come out on the cube right away.

Same thing with madden... I have played that game in every system from the genesis/snes to all the current systems.
No problems on the controller what-so-ever.

NOW... the D-pad is too small... but I don't mind the Zbutton.

If you cannot stand the original Gamecube controller try the Hori Digital snes shaped (and looking) controller. It works well.
