the newest installement in the civilization series (that i never played XD but i'm interested in trying it) to the nintendo DS, and everyone knows that DS touch screen + strategy game = awesome

I could have sworn I read an article that mentioned the cancellation of the Wii, or DS version (my memory is kind of foggy). Must have been the Wii version.

This could actually turn out to be really good. It's not like turn based strategy games need great graphics, or anything. I'll see with this one. It's another maybe for me.

If you want to get into the Civilization series, though, I would recommend just trying out Civ 4, or 3.

Why would they cancel the Wii one and not the DS?
I would imagine they thought the Wii-mote's imprecision would be a major problem with the Wii version. The stylus is far more precise, and as such, won't have any problem with this.

But the DS has a smaller screen and a lot less memory for the game.

Civilization games really don't need graphics. They could easily make the game around the tech level of Civilization III, and, provided they did it right, it wouldn't be any worse than its console counterparts.

Ah, but with more memory, they could put more stuff in the game, not have to worry about slowdown, that kinda stuff.

They could simply downgrade the graphics and sound quality, and fit in everything that are in the console versions.

I would imagine its production values wouldn't have to be any worse than Civilization 3 to fit everything in there.

Hmm, wasn't the DS version said to be the same as the 360, though?

I'm not sure, but it's obvious that there will be a major graphical difference between the two.
Well, like you said, there doesn't have to be, so it's possible there isn't any glaring differences beyond sound quality and smoothness. And textures, that's a big one.

idk but i think this kind of gameplay doesn't fit the wii... i mean fire emblem radiant dawn has no motion controls for a reason
