Cruelty on a stick.

It's an online service provided by Valve, the makers of the Half-Life series (Half-Life 2 is rated as one of the best FPS's in history, yes, better then Halo). Pretty much, you can buy and download games, mods, and movies digitally through it. Any games you own that use Steam can be played without the disc as well, and it auto-updates games for you as well.

Yeah They recently got Id Software games like Quake and Quake II. Also, they have Lost Planet and a bunch of other games in their catalog.

Turns out the "Preloading 0%" thing was a visual glitch, as pausing it and restarting it put it back at 100%.

It was made by Valve, but they allow other games oustide of their own on it. The classic Doom and Quake games, Lost Planet, Prey, Warhammer 40,000, Titan Quest, the list goes on.

Oh, Half-Life 2 being better than Halo is debatable. Though most of the people on this forum are Halo haters though. :lol

I never got into that Steam stuff....my friend had it when it was all free.

theres no reason to hate halo except

-no 360

-cant afford it

-not allowed (M rating)

-suck at it

otherwise your just being difficult

Or just having an opinion. Because not everyone has to agree with everything. :O

Hence why I said it was debatable.

Back on topic, Bioshock's going to rock...be it PC or 360. I'll be getting it on launch for the 360. :)

I think with Halo vs. Half Life thing, it depends on your taste in shooters. You probably like Half Life more, if you like a shooter that requires more thought, and Halo is for someone who likes a run and gun approach. That's why I don't like Halo as much as Half Life Hines. ;)

As for Bioshock, the reviews are starting to come in, and they are saying almost nothing negative about the game.

I suppose I didn't say what I wanted to correctly.

In terms of reviews, HL2 is considered the best PC FPS to date. I'm sure Halo is considered the best console shooter.

Now, IMO, I'm kind of half-and-half about Halo. Unless I'm doing Co-op or multi with friends, it kind of bores me. Also surprised at the lack of bots.

Halo is .1% higher than Half Life 2, so they are basically equal in terms of reviews. Metroid Prime is actually the highest reviewed FPS...if you would call it that...of all time.

i like half-life 2 and halo 2 for different reasons. halo 2 for multiplayer, of course, and HL2 for generally everything. the story is fantasic, believable characters, a sense of aloneness, everything is just superb
