DEAD SPACE: Extraction for Wii (Fall 09')

why make a downgrade when you can make a different type of game that works best with the console you are porting/remaking to? might as well just play the original (just like deadrising)

Because not everyone who has a Wii and wants this game has a PS3 or 360.

i don't see a lot of people who want to play prince of persia go out to buy the DS version just because they don't have a 360/ps3...same for assasins creed and other games that had a downgraded port (which are PLENTY).

besides at least they are not being a cash cow and copy paste everything and then take out stuff just like capcom did with dead rising...even if the game is not that great the fact that they are not just copy pasting the same gameplay but rather change into something that fits the console a lot more is a great thing in my opinion.

We're not talking about Assassin's Creed or Prince of Persia. And yes, there's a difference. Assassin's Creed and PoP weren't announced for the Wii. Where-as, when Dead Space was announced for the Wii, everyone thought it was going to be just like the others. It could work very easily, just downgrade the graphics a bit, and the controls would be like RE4. Nothing hard about that.

I fail to see how porting a game to a console makes a game a cash cow. And rail-shooters do work well for the Wii. But I didn't see people complaining about RE4's controls on it either.

it's not that simple, if you saw the differences between deadrising for 360/ps3 and deadrising for wii you'll see that it is just not worth it to do that kind of translation from those consoles to the wii... however translating a ps2/gamecube game to the wii is far easier and it doesn't have to sacrifice anything at all.

it's obvious that RE4 was a cash cow.... i loved the Wii version but it's obvious that the motive behind capcom was to get the money due to its sales.... however the difference between what RE4 and okami did was they nailed the controls and nothing was sacrificed in the transition.... now we look at dead rising and you see the difference.

If graphics are all you care about, I pity you. Because that's the only thing that would be compromised in Dead Rising for the Wii. Dead Rising was of course handicapped because of all the stuff going on screen at once. Dead Space doesn't have that problem.

the fact that i own a Wii and love portable gaming means otherwise :lol.

they took out other stuff, not being able to jump, no photograph, zombies were even dumber than the 360 version and poor control choices (not the motion ones surprisingly)

also dead space started as an XBOX game....so i wonder what could be the reason why they did not release it for the XBOX and why they do not use that base material to make the wii version...
