Blizzard needs to release an expansion in ISO download form for free. On the house. Then they'll sell even more Diablo 2 copies. They're super rich. Give a bunch of programmers part time work. Use Megaupload servers as mirrors.

IT is cool they are still patching the game... I really wish they would bring out another expansion.

I WISH then the expansion would update the resolution on the game. Really... another few quests would be awesome (plus a bumped resolution).

They patch it to get people thru the recession. The new patch will allow you to press a hot key to call 911 if you're going to commit suicide. Something about the Freddie Mac Chief Financial Officer.

Grrrr.. Diablo II has outlived its product life IMO.

When Bliz patched it from 1.09 to 1.10, it was time to put down the game for me. Really, I think 1.08 was the golden age of the game. Any patch now is just kicking a dead horse.
 
Activision-Blizzard is the most wealthy publisher in the world; they can patch it for no good reason.

Expect patches for 5 more years!

It'll run on Windows 8.0 well!
 
That's not true. I saw some Starcraft patches at Ausgamers dating Fall 2008. It runs on Vista with that patch.
