alrighty then... how do you do it?

you said in the steam thread that you can play dos games in Windows.

I have yet to get it working correctly.
and windows only provides emulation back to 95.

OR do you use other software?

What happens when you try to run it? Does it close the console window out right away?

You might have to open the console window, and run the game from there.

why would you need to emulate anything when you have the operating system right there?

open DOS itself by going to:
Start>all programs>accessories>command prompt

then run whatever game it is from there ; )

yeah.... I know... I have tried this since Win 98.

Code:
Fatal error 286.3330: General protection fault detected.
PID=0001  TID=0001  SID=0001  ERRORCODE=0000
AX=0048  BX=0048  CX=0048  DX=05BF  SI=0200  DI=0001  BP=1F9E
CS:IP=04D7:022E   DS=04F7  ES=05BF  SS:SP=04FF:1F9E   FLAGS=3206

@ korecky.... you cannot run it inside windows... either in the prompt, or just trying to run it from the cd in Windows.
The game can create a shortcut to Dos, but it physically takes you out to dos.... not just inside a window.

I might be able to get it to work right.

I haven't tried in XP... but in other OS's I got it working right. Normally you have to edit the autoexec and configsys to include mouse and cdrom support.

Just checking up on this (almost two years late :p) but if you still can't get it working (looks like a 16-bit application, due to the register dump you posted earlier) you might want to download DOSBox and give that a try. I can run you through using that as well if you wish.

Yes DOSbox should work if you config everything right. I used it to play the Elder Scrolls:Arena and everything went okay.

Yes, DOSBox will work but I just would rather use the real thing. That's why I have three PI machines sitting around. :)
