Dragon Quest VIII?

Yeah, I don't think I'd like this one much because level grinding totally sucks. :P

Not here. You get a real sense of acheivement when you do it. Plus I like having to actually put effort into completing a game rather than being able to do it in a few hours.

Games can be long, without level grinding. I've played many an RPG, without level grinding, that clocks in at 40+ hours...

It's fun to level grind in DQ anyway. There's so much customization and things to try out that the battles are fun, and like I said, you feel you've actually achieved it when you beat the game/sidequests.

I've only played the demo from PSm, ad it ended because of the level grinding I had to do before entering the first dungeon. Still, I don't mind it, and I sould really rent it to beat.

Hmm, I'm renting it now, and loving it. One problem. I got my 360 mere hours after getting DQVIII. Son of a...

No I love turn based and JRPGs. I just didnt find the story to be that involving to me

i liked it but it depend of the tastes of each person.

yea the story was very bland and cliche, but the game just did everything so well... one of my fav rpgs ever

BUY IT!! I've played this game inside out.As far as leveling up the best spot I can suggest is after you obtain flight power,go to "HOWLWIND HILL"and kill the various metal slimes(i.e.KING METAL SLIMES,METAL BABBLES,etc.)They may be a pain in the ass to beat because they run too much. The best way to take them out is by using abilities such as:"LIGHTNING STRIKE" or "EXECUTIONER" or stronger versions of the above mentioned. These attacks have a 50% chance of striking a fatal blow which comes in handy because it gives you a shot at wiping out one of the slimes before he bolts.

Equipping items that speed up your agility help a great deal because they sometimes give you the first strike thus having a better chance to kill these goofs before they bail on you.In closing,I highly recommend buying this.

Truly,
Mr.KAZ

There are some games out there where storyline just doesn't matter.

This is one such game.

I liked the story in this game. There were so many story elements tied with mini-games and side-quests. So much so, that I felt like I was really involved.

Cell shading at its finest. This game was a wonderful addition to the PS2.I hope they make one for the PS3!
