I am just posting this up. We are accepting DS pre-orders. $150 would be the cost + shipping.
We'll also be pre-ordering the software.... we still have to get some details in.

BUT.... be warned, we have the stuff coming... and if you want yours to be secured, get your pre-orders in early! :)

If I preorder with you this week, am I guaranteed a DS?

I will have the money by November 30th or so... when does the DS come out?
 
DS comes out around Mid November:
I believe the 21st... and it will retail @ $150

IF you would like to pre-order, I can hold one for you... and you can pay on the 30th.. I would appreciate a small downpayment though, if that is cool :)

You want to know something interesting? Have you ever noticed that Nintendo likes launching systems on Sundays?

There's actually a story behind that. It began because of Dragon Quest III.

Dragon Quest III was released on February 10, 1988--a Wednesday. School-children across the country called in sick to line up outside stores for their precious cartridges. Some high school students skipped school and mugged smaller children on the way home from the game store, taking their copy of Dragon Quest III. These problems were so widespread that they were brought to the attention of the Japanese Parliament, who decreed that henceforth Dragon Quest games were to be released on Sundays or national holidays only.

One might assume that since system launches are always so big in Japan that companies just followed suit in regards to launching them only on Sundays and national holidays.
 
Lol, man, those must be the sissiest High School kids in the world.

I thought generally all games/systems/movies/cds were realeased on a Tuesday. When I worked in an Electronics Dept. we always had to put stuff out on shelves on Tuesdays. There was one exception for a movie that came out on Thursday instead, I can't remember what it was though. Aside from that it was always strictly Tuesday, regardless of company, theme, or price.

I can get more... but I have 8 extras so far... but I need to know if any more of you want a Nintendo DS.... DS Software..etc.

I'll do the same thing with the PSP.

We're at 25 pre-orders now. :woot

I'm wondering how they are going to allocate, though. Hopefully we'll get enough to cover pre-orders at least.

Ha ha! No, I would say that I just have dedication and a passion for gaming. ;)

And besides video games and anime, I'm really stingy about buying stuff for myself. Having to wear uniforms to work is helpful, as it means I don't bother to spend lots of money on clothes that I can't wear.

As for the DS, I already have mine fully paid for. That's the good thing about reserving something at GS...I can pay it off a little at a time. I reserved it just after E3 and every paycheck I would put a little bit more money on it.
*^_^* I also have Halo 2 fully paid off, so now money that I get in November will go towards DS games, Viewtiful Joe 2, and possibly Alien Hominid.

On the issue of time, no, I don't have time to actually play all of them right away. But I always get to them eventually.

BTW, sorry for the double post, but if it makes you happier BV, GameStop has already stopped taking pre-orders on the DS because of the high demand. :D So you have time to beat 25. ;)
