Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - 11/11/2011

Im really hyped for this game. I loved Morrowind and Oblivion. I hope this one is as good or better.

I know NOTHING of the Elder Scrolls series. I have seen about half of my Steam friends list playing this game over the weekend.

After watching a few trailers, it looks good... really good.

Is it worth getting for someone who hasn't played the prior games in the series?

Oh definitely. And you can always touch up on the lore by doing some reading on one of the many elder scrolls sites.

This game is amazing. Addicted is an understatement to what I am to this game.

This topic needs a bump, BADLY. I haven't gotten Skyrim yet, but I think I'm going to lose my mind having to wait six days for it. Everything I've seen so far looks awesome. Please tell me it'll be worth the wait.

I think it is pretty awesome. The game is pretty open, I think it's better if you take time to relax and enjoy it rather than play through it as fast as you can. It has a lot of replay value too because of the character customization. They don't make you micromanage stats and numbers very much which is nice. You can choose what skills you develop just by doing the related actions and choosing "perks" as you level up.

The level up system is soooo much better. There are some amazing things about this game, but a few things let me down. I do not like the menu system to navigate inventory and the "favorites" menu. Also don't like the quest log either, it's really hard for me to read. Really wish that the people would play these games 8 ft away from a SDTV when they are making it sometimes, cause it's like mini text and unreadable. Also for some reason, my screen is a little clipped off on the left side of the screen. :-\

I feel your pain, I'm gonna be playing on a 20 inch SDTV. Now I remember why I get everything for PC. :lol

A lot of things about Skyrim are amazing. I love the shouts and being a Dragonborn and stuff. Dual-wielding is so much fun. ^_^

I guess my biggest complaint about changes from Oblivion is that they dumbed down the Thieves Guild in Skyrim. So far it just seems like being a glorified thug. :-\ Maybe that will change as I get deeper into the missions, though.

I hope so, the Thieves Guild and the Dark Brotherhood were by far the best side quests in Oblivion. I was hoping for more of the same in Skyrim.

I did not like the Dark Brotherhood in Skyrim. That was the freakin most awesome set of quests in Oblivion, and they turned it into a pile of crap IMO.

The thieves guild is kinda meh so far. However, my brother beat it and I was kinda in the room when he was doing some of the later quests and they did sound more interesting than bashing some dude's old stupid urn.

Yeah I got a little further into the Thieves Guild and I was happy when I got a quest that actually required being stealthy and stealing something. The feeling of "I made it!" when I got away was pretty awesome.

OMG out of all the Fus-Ro-Dah videos I've seen, that one is the most hillarious.

I posted that on my friends wall not too long ago. I peed myself almost when i saw it.
That dude literally flew into those Metal things behind him. Must hurt like hell.

I'm kind of disappointed in the guilds in Skyrim. None of them really compare to the ones in Oblivion. I did like becoming a werewolf, though.

Right now I'm just doing a lot of exploring and trying to work towards some more of the Achievements. I would like to get all of them for Skyrim. There's six more I need to get. ^_^
