Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - 11/11/2011

Yeah I still enjoyed them in Skyrim. I guess it's just hard to top that Thieves Guild mission in Oblivion where you have to jump down a well and the only reason you don't die is the Springhill Jack boots. I think that is what they were called. And then for the Dark Brotherhood, I recall a quest in Oblivion where you are locked in a house with like four other people and you have to kill them all. That was fun.

Yeah that dark brotherhood quest in oblivion was like my favorite in the game. Nothing in the DB in skyrim did much for me.

I think the best part of the Dark Brotherhood quest in Skyrim is the first time the Night Mother speaks to you. Oh. My. God. It's probably one of my favorite moments in a game, ever. It was just so unexpected. Especially when you're playing at night and it's dark. :lol If you've gotten to that part you probably know what I'm talking about. :D

I thought about buyin' this during the Steam Big Ol' Pile o' Gifts holiday sale at 33% off normal price, but had to save money for car repairs. :(

I do, however, have a 25% off Bethesda coupon that I think I'm going to use on this game this spring.

Just finished the College of Winterhold Quest chain =D. Pretty awesome although a bit predictable it was very exciting. I also married Onmund the mage because he seems to be the closest thing to a "pretty boy" I am ever going to get in skyrim (plus he is a nice follower). However since I basically made the college my base of operations, dragons keep attacking my college...the problem is not fighting them back since a good smack with some magic for good measure is enough...the problem is the fact that I have FOUR DRAGON CARCASSES lying around the college >_>

So it turns out that Dark Brotherhood initiates can't be killed. Therefore you can't use them in the Boethiah quest. For anyone that ends up going for that. :lol

No, it's not gamebreaking. You don't have to use a Dark Brotherhood initiate in particular. You just have to kill a follower. I was trying to use the DB initiate so I wouldn't feel as guilty. I certainly don't want to kill a character I like! :lol

But I guess I can hire someone I've never interacted with before and use them. There are usually mercenaries in the inns in towns that you can pay 500 coins and they will follow you.

Re: lets talk skyrim...

Everyone that I know with this game got it at launch, dumped 70+ hours in it, couldn't stop talking about it, beat it, and moved on. I was piss poor at the time so I missed it. I just picked it up during the summer steam sale and played it for a few minutes but I didn't get sucked in like all the other Morrowind games. I've not given it a fair shot though because between the steam summer sale and the area gamestops sales / getting rid of game cube titles, I've purchased probably 50 games in the last two months and honestly it's these $15.00 experiences that have been getting play time. Orcs Must Die 2, Hero Academy, Shoot Many Robots, and really pseudo games like that have really killed my chances of playing Skyrim.

With that said I really wanna play it, games like that though deserve several hours of attention at a clip, and at the moment I just can't spend it!

Re: lets talk skyrim...

I love Skyrim. Its awesome especially when you have some steam mods on it. There are some awesome mods that make the game better but the game by itself is still an amazingly well made game besides some minor bugs and glitches that you can find a way to bypass.

Off topic target what is your steam cause I also have orcs must die 2 as well and Shoot Many Robots but haven't had anyone to play either with since you can only play with steam friends it seems.

Re: lets talk skyrim...

Yeah you gotta have a lot of free time to devote to skyrim. And we just had a baby 15 days ago.

Skyrim is neglected.

Re: lets talk skyrim...

There were a lot of things about Skyrim that were awesome, but I thought the way the guilds were set up compared to Oblivion was a bit of a let-down. I did go through two characters, though, before I moved on to something else.

I'm somewhat curious about the Dawnguard DLC but not enough to buy it right now.

Re: lets talk skyrim...

Dawngaurd adds loads of new features. New weapons and perks for being a vampire or a werewolf.

Horse combat too I think. Looks pretty good.

Re: lets talk skyrim...

vampires and warewolves.......... skyrim goes twilight..........

yeah i make fun but it seems good, and one of my characters was deffly a vamp in oblivion

Re: lets talk skyrim...

Well you can be a vampire lord in Dawnguard. Which you transform into some kind of grotesque vampire bat thing and drain the souls of your victims.

Re: lets talk skyrim...

Dark brotherhood questline is fun. but It would depend for me. I like to have a playstyle for each character and I have a char that refused to join them due to honor reasons and one that did cause the coin was good.
