End Career

What do you want your final career to be?

I, personally, would like to be an observer. I want to be on one of those mountains with a huge telescope and just look at the stars and deep out into space. I think it would be so cool to see things out there that people normally can't see. Also, spotting an asteroid or a supernova would be fantastic!

I too would love to be an Astronomer Strubes, although a Geologist would be pretty dang cool. In reality though I will probably just be a writer or some sort of conservation worker.

I always thought a Robo-technician or a nano biologist (nanobots inside the body) would be really cool jobs

I want to be a bum. :D

Just kidding!! I love my current occupation. I am in a company that has nothing in the way between me and the top. And quite literally I don't consider it work because I love doing what I do and I love being with my coworkers.

A discount too none-the-less.

Being an astronomer (more specific: observer) would be great! If I saw a deadly asteroid heading towards Earth, I'd name it Asteroid Strubes....and I'd hope it ended the world. Asteroid Strubes would destroy everything. My name would be the last thing on people's minds. :lol

Wow Dart has it made....selling tires

hey now. Don't knock it!! Ever work at a company that literally looks out for their workers?? A few years ago I was in a meeting and one of the guys who was with me got his car stolen while the meeting was in session. The regional VP got wind of it after the cops showed up and cut a company check for the deductible on the guy's insurance. Another time a tech at one of our Tucson stores lost his house to a fire. Burned to the ground and he and his family escaped with just the clothes on their backs. The company cut him a check to buy new clothes, toys for the kids and the deposit and first month's rent on a new place until his insurance went thorugh.

It's things like this that make a company breed loyalty. It's true that the actual selling of tires and wheels isn't as glamorous as being a lawyer or doctor. But working for a company that gives me full authority to do the right thing when dealing with the customer's needs without ever having someone breathe down my neck or give me grief is something that no other company has. Ever see how happy a Walmart employee is?? Heh. Doesn't happen.

Our motto is and always be "To be the best. Our unique success is based on caring and cultivating our people, delighting our customers and growing responsibly." We want to be the best at waht we do. We want to constantly earn the right to call the people who come through our doors "our customers." And being a part of a team like that is worth more than any other profession can offer me. It drives me to come to work and high five my buddies and breeze through the day.

Oh, Idk bout him, but I wasn't knocking on your career. I think it'd be pretty cool. :)

Oh, it's not a big deal if he was. It's just when people ask me what I do, and I say "I sell tires." They think "loser." Well, my bank account says otherwise. And I'm not on commission!! I just wanted him to see what my drive is.

That's how a company should be. Not only are the employees loyal but Im sure most customers are also because of this.

Plus money isn't everything. It helps to have some, naturally, but most people prefer to be happy in their job rather than dreading one that makes them a lot of money.
