EVENTUALLY!!!, the month the PS3 takes control

Re: October, the month the PS3 takes control

Yes, Sony targeted an older audience. It clearly didn't appeal to you. On that note, you're correct.

Re: October, the month the PS3 takes control

Yeah, but aren't like, only 40% of gamers 'old enough to afford a PS3'? Why only target 40% of the market?

Re: October, the month the PS3 takes control

Anybody with a job can afford a PS3 if they save up. The majority of gamers are in their mid to late 20's. I'd rather go with the majority too.

Re: October, the month the PS3 takes control

Yes, but people have jobs for things like bills and groceries. To a homeowner, games come pretty far down on the list of needs.

Re: October, the month the PS3 takes control

Then you're looking at the difference between homeowners and gamers.

Listen, for the sake of arguing, let me finish this.

(this is how the argument always happens with you anyways)

fhq - It's too expensive

Strubes - You get what you pay for. It has Blu-ray, which adds a crap load of options. Plus, Sony's losing money on each PS3 made because of the Blu-ray player.

fhq- So why do they need Blu-ray? I want a game console to play games, that's it.

Strubes- Then stick with Nintendo. I want something that'll play games and do a ton of other stuff.

Then it starts back at the price again....so for the sake of time, I'll just put....THE END. :)

Re: October, the month the PS3 takes control

That is so not how it--yeah, it pretty much is. But you really can't blame me, Sony didn't try to get my positive attention this generation.

Re: October, the month the PS3 takes control

Hey, that's fine. You're young. You don't have a job. You can't appreciate the PS3 for what it is yet. There's nothing wrong with that. Chances are though, when you do get a job, you won't be paying bills and such right away, making it easy to save up.

Re: October, the month the PS3 takes control

Yeah, but really, I already have plans with what to do next summer when I have a job. None include a PS3. Maybe when the $400 hits(and hopefully stays), and it gets more games that appeal to me(Ratchet won't last me, and I doubt it will match Going Commando anyways, Killzone 2, eh, see my thoughts on Killzone 1, Heavenly Sword, eh, God of War III will probably end up better, Assassin's Creed, I dunno yet, honestly, nothing's really jumped out at me from it, Uncharted, I'll wait and see, if it seems too Tomb Raiderish, it's out, lesse...what else...ah, well), then I'll think about it. What I'm really surprised at actually, was that I DON'T want to get a PS3 right away. I mean, I'm a teenage kid, shiny lights and all that stuff are appealing to me, and really, thanks to my online renting, I'd end up spending $660 on my whole PS3's life, but that's a decent chunk of money on a minimum wage job(this is all assuming I can actually get a job at one of the few places around here I can work at at 14), and there's plenty more I could get with $660.

Exactly what I thought BEFORE I bought a PS3. :lol

Re: October, the month the PS3 takes control

>_> Speaking of, what games DO you even have for your PS3? And with everything it can do, I'd have to get new sound systems, a new TV, a way to have it in my room(fancy gaming entertainment center, perhaps), all that stuff, to get the added benefit. Quite another large sum of money. I mean, right now, all I have to pay for personally is games and stuff, my parents cover food and clothes, so the first thing I would get is this pimped out, huge ass, next gen gaming explosion up in my room, decked out with every console(just so I can get a taste of everything(and some bragging rights)), high class speakers, all that shiny, new expensive stuff. Seriously, that would kick ass, considering the only games I would have to pay for are the ones I really, really want to able to play on a whim. But it would take forever, and being that the whole magical world of buying things will have just opened to me(right now, I have a whopping $10 towards Zelda), I'm not sure if it'd really be the best thing to buy. The coolest thing, for sure, but the best?

Re: October, the month the PS3 takes control

I have Rainbow Six Vegas which I play online with Mega, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Both are incredible games. Next, I'm getting Ratchet and Clank which will breathe new life into my PS3. I'm so happy with it. Oh, and I have an SDTV, and no surround sound, and I still love my PS3. I do play it on my 32 inch HDTV when I get the chance though. Next up is a surround sound system. :D

Re: October, the month the PS3 takes control

You love your ps3 so much because it plays games that are essentially on 360?

Re: October, the month the PS3 takes control

Hmm, now that's a very bad presumption. When the PS3 gets a game that is also on the 360, the PS3 version has alot more stuff. For example, Rainbow Six Vegas has ALL the maps on it for the PS3 version, where you have to download them at a price for the 360 version. Also, tons of more weapons and character types, along with free online are on the PS3 version. Also, Ninja Gaiden Sigma isn't on the 360. Neither is Ratchet and Clank.

Re: October, the month the PS3 takes control

hence the word essentially... but hey whatever floats your boat. Im planning on getting one of them bad boys too but I can patiently wait for FFXIII.... or until i can stop spending all my money :lol

Yeah, I guess even though you don't have to pay as much for the 360, you do spend much more downloading stuff and paying for Live.

Another topic title change. :lol

i was going to suggest that XD....but i think november is not gonna be either....

mario galaxy + casual gamers that played the old mario game= MONEY
fire emblem + RPG/wii gamers = MONEY
and some great titles for the 360 = MONEY

but on the bright side the ps3 got a price cut (i think)

well the PS3 is basically getting the same games as 360
For the most part, yeah. They each have their exclusives though. The 360 has Mass Effect, and the PS3 has Uncharted and Haze.
