I picked up this game the other day and wow, I haven't been able to put it down since. The world that they created is absolutely fantastic. I mean, there's so much to do and see, and everything looks amazing and has great music in the background, everything just feels right. I also love the quests and stuff. I've only done a couple though, but the ones I have done were frickin fun. I would do more but I have enough fun just tooling around the towns and travelling between them and everything. I seriously haven't had this much fun with a game since I played Halo 2 online, and as far as 1 player experience goes, I can't even remember the last time I had this much fun with a game. I really feel like finally someone made a fantasy game right!
As far as game length, I really haven't had a problem with it at all. I mean, I look at the quests like I did the missions in GTA, something to do when you get bored. However, I do dislike this quick aging thing. It seems like my character is going to die of old age before I even get to the end of the game, and I haven't used any magic the whole way through. So I'm starting to wonder is there some kind of age limit in the game? And, do you get to use your same character once you beat the game, like, can you just load it up right before you beat it and still roam around with all your shizzat?
Someone said that they thought the game was shallow, all I'd have to say is that statement displays a fairly shallow perception of the game. I've been sinking my teeth into this game for a good 6 hours and I've barely scratched the surface. The world is so rich and lush, and the characters are so responsive, to say the game is shallow just tells me that you didn't play the game with any sort of imagination. I remember reading something the developers said when they were making the game, and they said the hardest part was giving people direction, because really they wanted to make a game where you could go in any direction you wanted. If you played this game simply to beat all the quests, then you've really only played a small, shallow, portion of the game.
So far I absolutely love it. This is probably the best adventure game I've played since OOT, and that's saying something. I really do hope this character aging thing doesn't happen too fast. I've invested a lot of time into this character and I don't want him to keel over before his time, so to speak. They shoudl have asked you if you wanted to age, like they orginally did when you were a kid and a teenager. My guy's already got grey hair and I've completed like 6 quests... :lol
