Well, closets to being a true blue game console. The 360 and PS3 I feel try to be more than they need to, with the bluray/dvd player options and such.

But the Wii also does the same. The last true console in the sense you are thinking about was the Gamecube. And before that maybe Dreamcast.

but the wii does it on a much, much lower scale.

I'll just let you be. I'm not looking to bait or flame anyone. I really don't like the Wii and library in my opinion is laughable regardless of whether it's just a dedicated console or not. In fact, it's even more laughable because it does do less and still has crappier games.

Not that much lower. PS3 and 360 does Netflix, very soon the Wii will do Netflix. It's like it's only 5 steps behind.

Honestly, even if I didn't I would most likely still feel the same. I owned a Wii before I started working with it daily and it disappointed me even then to the point of selling it. Now after a few years, it's still the best decision I've made console wise. Eventually, in the far future I will own one just because I collect consoles, but it won't be because of the games. I'm seriously not feeling the games at all, even the decent ones and just the way Nintendo carries themselves when it comes to Mature just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Because I've got a reputation of flaming. :lol
I generally tend to find good qualities of all games, no matter what system. Perhaps the fact that the Wii is the only current gen console I have makes me think it's great. Maybe it's just because I'm cheap. Maybe it's because it's my first Nintendo console. IDK. But to each his own. *coughhatercough*

While i don't particularly agree with the comment of "the wii is the only game console" judging by how many games i actually bought for the Wii instead of the 360 and ps3 i gotta say it does have a better library in my opinion.

and to this point i just ignore creepin's comments, he irrationally hates the wii as much as i irrationally like it so it makes perfect sense to me that way.

(plus i am pretty sure he ignores our comments too which is nice =3)

I hear you. I kinda miss how Nintendo used to be. Where they limited who could develop for their consoles not as it stands today.

technically speaking yes, but even when we had to share a ps2 also i had a lot of games for the ps2, yet i don't really have many PS3 games of my own (though i do think that if we combine libraries we might have more ps3 than wii games... but that's sort of unfair since the only game my family ever bought was guitar hero for the wii....ironic how the "family friendly" console doesn't have family games other than guitar hero and wii sports)
 
I think the Wii itself is a nice piece of hardware, as most Nintendo stuff is, I just wish it had more variety of games. Look at the Cube and N64, they both had quite a few excellent mature games. Why can't the Wii? It's not like a handful of good mature games would tarnish it's rep as a family friend console.

Granted I don't go to far in explaining my disappointment in the Wii, but I can guarantee you it's not irrational. I just don't look to change other people's opinions about a console. If other people like the Wii, that's cool. I don't think I ever really made fun of or tried to persuade others from getting or playing a Wii.

Actually, that's my beef with Nintendo. What they really mean about "family friendly" is non-mature titles. Technically you're correct, but it's not what they mean. If they would be a little more honest, I might have a little more respect for them.

i know you probably have your reasons and we debated this over and over again so no need for that again.

regarding the family friendly comment, I guess I am a living contradiction that's bad for nintendo's bussiness because it ain't working for me or my family XD they rather be playing killzone 2 on my sister's ps3

It's cool. I didn't take it to heart or anything. I just wanted to clear my stance a little since I am the "Wii Hater" on this board. So I figured I would use this opportunity to clear a few things up for others. You're definitely irrational and I don't think I would ever understand why you like the Wii. :P
