Now here's a weird thought. I love survival/horror games like Silent Hill, and more or less accidentally found a game called Fatal Frame. A quick search on the 'net told me FF3 is out in Japan already, so how come no one have heard about them? They play a lot like Clock Tower in many ways, except they are really good. Fatal Frame, not Clock Tower. They are just aweful. I think they have a differnet title in Europe, but I'm not sure. Anyway, you play a young girl in a mansion, with your entire arsenal... a camera. That's right. You, a camera, one buckload of ghosts. It's very good indeed.

not my type of survival horro games.. i prefer resident evil style... drools :D can't wait for the ps2 version of resident evil4..

I'm skeptical to RE4. They changed it too much. There are for instance no zombies, and I heard you get health and ammo pretty much everywhere. But isn't that why people don't like RE3? :? I'll of course try it, but I'm skeptical.

Ive heard of it and seen it in action. It didnt really interest me. RE4 is just great survival horror because it has a decent amount of action with a decent amount of scares. I really didnt care that they took out the zombies because these new monsters are a lot quicker and more intelligent. Otherwise it would just be your same old run-of-the-mill Resident Evil. Which is what people were complaining about in the first place ever since RE3 and up. I loved RE3 and sometimes wished that some of the improvements in that game could have been implemented in the first two RE's.

I had Resident Evil for my PS1. And I didn't like the game play. I guess it burned me out on the whole Hack 'N Slash zombie games.

But it's not a hack 'n slash. :-\ The reason I love RE is because of the story. I always want to know what kind of stuff Umbrella comes up with. I know this game isn't for everyone.

I'm not saying RE4 is a bad game, just that it's a bad "resident evil" game. The first one had zombies. This one don't. The first one had a mystery. This one don't. (unless Umbrella don't have anything to do with it). The first one had slow gameplay. This one have fast gameplay. The first one had a great story. This one... uh, guess we'll have to wait and see, but I'm skeptical.

Think about Half-Life 2. The first one had you as a lone scientist stuck inside Black Mesa running through tight corridors, being chased not only by aliens, but by the military as well. You didn't understand what was going on, and all you wanted to do was to get back to the surface and escape.
Then we got Half-Life 2. Instead of tight corridors, we got outdoor levels. Instead of being alone, you have a partner. Instead of walking on foot, you have vehicles. Instead of not knowing what's going on, you've been trained to handle things. Instead of trying to get to the surface and escape, you are going after the aliens right from the start. It's a great game, but it's not a "Half-Life" game.

So you're saying that they should stick to the same ole' formula like Tomb Raider? I have to disagree. For me the whole point of sequels is to have something different that the the first one(s) didnt offer. I dont see a point in making a sequel if it's not going to try to break new ground somehow. Then it just gets boring.
