October 07, 2004 - Square Enix revealed today that Final Fantasy III will be coming to the Nintendo DS system. While little has been revealed on the game, it's known that it will feature dual screen and touch panel support. The touch panel will come into play with how you collect crystals.

Release information and further specific details will have to wait for a future update from the company.

It should be interesting to see what they change about FF3 to make it into a DS game.

It's the Japanese FF3.

Following a teaser trailer that announced Final Fantasy III's new status as a DS game, Miyamoto commented, "This is the first time that Final Fantasy III has appeared on hardware outside of the Famicom (Japanese NES), isn't it?" Offering up memories of the Wonderswan version of the game, which never surfaced despite a lengthy development time, Kawazu responded with, "Over the past 15 years we've tried numerous times, but as we couldn't get it to work, this time we've decided to make the game for DS."

For those who are confused, this is not the Super NES FF3 we know so well...this is the long lost Final Fantasy 3 from NES/Famicom days....now remade into fully 3D and for Nintendo DS

Now that my idiocy is over, when is this game going to be released??? And if so, how much?? I shall need if for my DS when the wife buys it for me for Christmas. :D

Does look like a "Wow" on graphics... Now, to trade in my SP for a DS or get a "new brighter screen" SP...?

I dont think the new SP can play DS games. Unless this is being released on SP also.

those look really good. I've never played a FF (played KH though) but I think when this comes out I'll buy it.

I didn't really get to play III either.....so maybe I should get a DS now....
 
Final Fantasy 3 has Wi-Fi feature

Square Enix revealed new details on Final Fantasy III's WiFi mode. In the game you can dispatch letters to friends via WiFi. WiFi connection can be established with the moggles in the game. After you dispatched the letter, new event will be triggered on both sides.

Final Fantasy 3 DS offically released today

Get it. Get it. Get it. 3 times a charm. I played a bit of it at work today, simply gorgeous! A Must have!
