Wow, minimum wage here is $7.55/hour.
Of course, it just went up to that, and we have one of the highest minimum wages in Canada, and our dollar is worth slightly less than the American one. Even so, I pull in about $600 a paycheck (I get more than minimum wage), but after living expenses it doesn't leave much for games. I'm workin on getting into a better paying job at the moment, but no luck so far.
I got a couple friends who work on drilling rigs and service rigs and stuff. Starting wage on those is like $14/hour and you can easily move up to $21 or $25/hour once you get three months experience or something. Plus they get a lot of over time so you can easily pull in about $1200 a paycheck. The downside, they work hard, really hard. :lol
