Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance

Am I the only one looking forward to this awesome game?

With all the games that have come out recently, I've spent the most time on Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones (for GBA), and because of that I'm totally psyched for the GC Fire Emblem.

I can't wait to see what the story is.

Fire Emblem is a strategy rpg. Did you ever play Advance Wars or Final Fantasy Tactics Advance on the GBA? It's pretty similar to that.

edit - IGN has a really great interview that talks about the GC Fire Emblem. Here's the link for that. http://cube.ign.com/articles/654/654502p1.html

Basically you have a party and you're set on a playing field, and you have goals to accomplish. In Fire Emblem, there are 4 different kinds of goals.

1. Defeat the boss - To beat the stage, you have to defeat the boss. Usually you'll want to kill all the enemies for the XP, but you don't have to.

2. Seize the throne/building - Exactly what it sounds like. You have to seize the throne. This is another one where you don't have to kill all the enemies to get past the level.

3. Kill all enemies - Exactly what it sounds like.

4. Don't Die - This is also exactly what it sounds like. You'll be given a certain amount of turns that you have to live through in order to beat the level.

I've played Advance Wars, FFTA, and Fire Emblem, and Fire Emblem is definitely my favorite. Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones (for GBA), especially, is really awesome. It has two different storylines that you can play, and you only get the whole story by playing through both. It also has multiple class change options, so you have a lot of options with your characters. And unlike the first Fire Emblem for GBA, there's a lot of sidequest things that you can do to level up your characters.

Fire Emblem might be a little hardcore for some though, since if your character dies, they are gone forever. If you want to keep them, you have to start that level over again and try not to get that character killed.

I've put at least 40 hours into the GBA version, so I can't wait for the GC one, which should be even longer!  :D

Make sure you check out the screenshots, too.

I've played all three (fire emblem, ffta and advance wars 2,) and Advance Wars is my preferred choice. Probably the humour in it compared to the other 2.

Thanks for that. Sounds good.

Has anyone picked this game up?

If so, what are your impressions. I will have some B-day money to burn soon, so I am getting about 3-4 games ready to soak up :D I need some new games to kill off the stresses of school.

Thank goodness the revolution will be backward compatible with the cube games. I have a pretty nice cube collection going :lol

†B†V† :hat

GREAT RPG! I've been splitting time between this, GUN, Growlanser, Halo 2, and PGR3 so I've not got very far in it but It's definatly up there in my book.

I picked up Fire Emblem the day it came out and I think I beat it in about a week because I played it nonstop. It's a great game! Definitely one of the standout titles for GC in 2005.

Awesome great game. Almost beat the game but had to return it. I might rent it again or just buy it with a new memory card, my cousin stole my other one and moved and won't mail it back to me. I wish they didn't take out all the classes from Sacred Stones; that would have been totally awesome and more characters, minor ones not major. I really like the make your own weapon option, my 3 main characters owned.

I'm Curious...

What's crackin' fellow members? The reason for this post is I'm looking for a little info with respect to "Fire Emblem" for the Cube.I just wanted to know if anyone could tell me what the battle system is like as well as controls, how many hours of gameplay the programmers guarentee, and lastly,if this game resembles any other RPG'S.

Thank you.

Re: I'm Curious...

Hours of gameplay is crap, for one, it should be the fun you had playing, not the time you spent. Two, it's just an estimate, Twilight Princess was supposed to be 80-100 hours, but I got 37 on one playthrough, 60 with everything collected.

Thank you.

The hours of gameplay depends on how you play it, actually. Some people are going to have more experience in the series and might be able to get through it faster than someone new to Fire Emblem. Also, I believe there are three different difficulty levels, so that would also affect it. I played through it on Normal and Hard, but it's been so long that I don't remember how long either one took. But I can tell you that I payed the full amount for the game when it came out, and it was well worth it.

Fire Emblem is a turn-based strategy game. If you've ever played Advance Wars or Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, it's kind of similar to those.

OH my god. I just got this game and it rules. XD I'm on Chapter 6.

And yet I managed to kill off two of my characters. >_<

you should have restarted the chapters where they died, since they never comeback, belive me you don't want to be like a friend of mine... he got to chapter 20 and he only had 9 characters alive (not near enough to be able to beat the last portion of the game)

how is it possible that I never posted in this topic?

I bought this game and got to chapter 20 or so before i sold it. I dont see why I did either, Im an enourmous fire emblem fan. I think ill pick it up again later.

It was fun when I played through it the first couple of times, but it doesn't seem worthwhile to play twenty times to get Ashnard.

No, I don't think I would go to that much trouble, either.
