I think that a lot of reviewers found SCII to be a very minor upgrade from the original SC on Dreamcast. I never did play the DC version, but I heard it had basically the same characters, same moves, etc., SCII was supposedly just a version of SC for PS2/GC/Xbox, and really didn't improve on anything done before it.
I loved SCII and to this day it is the only fighter I will play. I really wish SCIII was coming to Gamecube, but I ca understand why its not. Yes the GC version of SCII sold better than any other, but it was because of Link, plain and simple. SCIII that will not include Link will not sell as good on the GC. So, if they had to pick one console to release it on, the fanbase of the PS2 makes it an obvious choice. However, I don't see why they wouldn't port it to every other system and make more money.
