For every 10 Wii's sold, 7 aren't even being played

Who was talking about ditching the hardcore games? Not I. Don't know why you came to that assumption. In fact the hardcore games are the ones that will sell well while the casual games will sell moderately and then be forgotten.

I will reiterate my post, Just because there are a number of titles out for sale, or going to go on sale, does not mean that everyone is interested in them. Usually the only games making any waves in the news are games that have familiar names, like Smash Bros and Mario Kart.
You said none would help the playability issue, even though those are the only planned ones that will. And if they don't help, they won't be good, if they aren't good, no one wants them, if no one wants them, they won't come back, if they won't come back, no hardcore games. Unless you can go to every person in the world and ask, you can't say jack about the sales until they go off the shelves.

@Hines, what are you talking about?

the sarcasm in this post

Mhm, especially after seeing how crappy the last two were, not to mention how lame every bit of information released on the Dojo was. What was I thinking? Those are going to be the start of the real games that we will play for quite some time.

anyway, lets drop it and be civil! we shall!

WAIT!?

wasnt there supposed to be a new wii channel by the end of LAST month!?

Yeah, but instead we got the Neo-Geo on Virtual Console. Darn, I would much rather prefer voting on Mii's.

Please go back and read my posts again. Not once did I say none of them.

Plus just because a game is good does not mean it will sell well. I'm sure you can think of a game that was really good, that you liked, but yet didn't sell well.

i dont know if your being sarcastic or not, but i would actually prefer doing that lmao

Oh, right, don't know why I said none. And go right back to my sales statement.

Idk if its sarcasm but i would love to have Neo-Geo games on any system instead of a channel
Of course it's sarcasm, don't you remember who I am?

hmm, i think that with that many different games there would be something to appeal to everyone, hardcore and casual

the wii will bounce back, just give it some time

What?

I'm gonna assume you want me to go back and read your post about sales.

Of course I won't know what everyone in the world is going to buy. I'm not that naive. My post was merely a possibility, an educated guess, based on past trends in the videogame market. Again, don't know why you assume so many things since none of my posts were to be taken as fact.

Once again, just because there are that many titles doesn't meant that everyone will be interested in them. <-- That statement is only a possibility. I never said that they could not ever sell. Just that there is a much closer chance that they won't.

Hardcore gamers are a bigger market(already in the market, not potential), so there's a better chance they will.

But they're not. But then again I can't necessarily prove that they are. So where is this proof that they are a bigger market? In my experience, hardcore gamers only make up a handful of the population of gamers. Heck, I work with video game testers, and more than half of them barely even play games outside of work. So I'm going to have disagree with you.

Not to mention, what makes a hardcore gamer? I believe we have a topic on that already, so we can take that discussion in there.

So why are you saying they're gamers then?

Because they fit the profile of a casual gamer. They barely play games outside of work. They do but not as much as others and, in their case as well, don't buy many either.

Then they'd pretty much be nothing. Casual gamers play simple, easy games. Just playing games for boredom is not the same thing.

Casual gamer is a video game player whose time or interest in playing games is limited compared with a hardcore gamer. They can be found playing games across all genres and of varying levels of complexity and difficulty. However, they do not devote the amount of time or practice to video games spent by hardcore gamers. Whereas a hardcore gamer may approach gaming with the mindset of a professional, a casual gamer would think more like a hobbyist.

Hardcore gamer is a video game player whose leisure time is largely devoted to playing or reading about video games. This type of gamer prefers to take significant time and practice on games, in contrast to a casual gamer. Many hardcore gamers pride themselves on mastering the rules or use of a game.

EDIT: BYAH

It's not? Seriously that's a casual gamer right there. A person who likes to play every now and then. Playing games "casually" is for boredom. Even casual gamers play hardcore games at times, but because they play them sparingly, then that's what makes them a casual gamer.

EDIT: What Fr0dus said as well.

We won't ever sort out casual/hardcore, we can't agree on what it means.
