The PSP was Sony's first try at a handheld console, and they made mistakes with it. Should they abadon the handheld market completely, just because the PSP had a few flaws, and didn't manage to beat out the DS, which was made by a company who had been making handhelds for 15 years?
The PSP had flaws a handheld should not have. Crappy battery life, more long games than quick fixes, movies, music since your iPod isn't enough, ROMs as a major selling point. I'm not saying the PSP is bad, i'm just saying it's not handheld material.

Which means every handheld Sony tries to make will have the same flaws, right? ::)

The point of Sony making another handheld would be to fix those flaws, so why should they never make another handheld?

Also, I doubt that many people even know what ROM's are, nevermind saw them as a reason to buy their PSP. >_>

EDIT: By the way, great title Mega. :D

But they're turning that around. Like I mentioned before, God of War on the PSP solidifies it as a proper handheld that has potential to have great games. Had they released God of War earlier then maybe they wouldn't be so behind in sales.

But like I said, God of War isn't a 'handheld' game, it's more a lay down and play game.

I disagree, fhq, but i can see what you mean. Although the series is very epic, it is very much action oriented. Just pick it up, kill some guys, put it down.

I doubt it will work like that, unless it has anytime saving.

I have to disagree. I've played it and it's just pick up and play with non stop action. There are some short cutscenes in between but it doesnt deter from the gameplay. I see what you're sayiing but God of War is one of the few games that made the transition to handheld well because of the type of game it is. It's not like GTA.

I agree. God of War is going to be amazing on the PSP. I know, if it was on the DS it would be sooo much better ( ::) ), but still.

Wow, I didn't even notice. Recently, I've seen maybe two games that are actually good for the DS. But dang, the PSP has been pumping out gems.

Final Fantasy Tactics, the new Castlevania, God of War coming out soon...geeze. I think it's about high time I buy a PSP now. The only reason I don't trade my DS in is cause I get the games for free.

So? It's made by Sony.

:lol

I think he was going for the "I'm super sarcastico" superhero approach.

I think the DS will win cause of popularity, but I think PSP games will sell better.

Brain Age 2 has sold over 5 million copies, and Zelda Phantom Hourglass is basically a lock to sell a few million. I can't think of a PSP game, outside of God of War that has the potential to sell more than a million copies. That combined with the fact that the DS has almost 3 times the user base of the PSP may make it hard for the PSP to sell more games

Final Fantasy Tactics
Castlevania
I expect both of those to be excellent games (or ports, or whatever), but if a Castlevania game can't get over 1 million units on the DS, I doubt it'll be able to on the PSP, with its far smaller userbase. The same goes with Final Fantasy Tactics. The original received tons of critcal praise, but was for the most part, overshadowed by FF 7, and didn't have much commericial success. If Final Fantasy Tactics couldn't sell that well on a system with a userbase as large as the PS1's, how can we expect it to on the PSP?
