Gamecube

Okay instead of making a new topic about this question, I'll just use this one instead.

I saw a refurbished Cube at Gape Stop the other day for $59. Would this be a wise investment?? I mean, being that it was broken and new guts were put in, it may last longer than the rumored four year lifespan.

I can't bring myself to buy a new one for $100 being that the Rev is rumored to be just around the corner. So should I shell out $60 for the refurbished unit??

1st off.. they had a refurbished Xbox for $60?  that is pretty cheap.. even for refurb...

$59 is not a bad investment.  That would not be bad.  Now where is this rumored 4 year life span?

Last.... don't buy any items from a store called "gape stop" .....

Whoa...for real?!?!

Used, Refurbished or what???

That sounds really good. :o

Used from an old buddy of mine, but I cleaned it up so good, that you'd swear it just came out of the box  ;)  Original model with the Composite output even...

we should start this in a new topic... but the DC had composite out? IE the REd / White / Yellow outputs were on the system as well?

DC? Don't you mean GC? :?

GameCube had two models, original with Composite out for HDTV's (6 tail) and then during 2003, they removed it only to leave behind the AV Port

Do you mean COMPONENT out? Composite is the regular red, white, and yellow cables.

COMPONENT!! He said the magic word!!!

*Pee Wee's Play House crowd goes wild*!!! AHH!!!

Yes that is the word I was searching for lol

Nope, every brand new Cube that you purchase today, does NOT have the Component output anymore. The first bundle to have this, was the 2003 Metroid Prime Bundle (Platinum Cube with MP + MP 2 Demo disk)

... I thought you meant your DREAMCAST :lol ... hold up.. you were talking about your cube the whole time (when talking about component)?

De Cube! De Cube boss! ^_^

go ahead, Nintendo is the only company that I know of that still produces Pokemon games for its systems and it has some pretty fun games

I would wait to see what's up with the Revolution, to be honest. Unless you plan on picking up a bunch of older GC games, there's like nothing coming out for it anymore besides Zelda.

On the other hand though, if you did pick up a GC, you can get most of the best games for cheap. Wind Waker, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Smash Bros. Melee for example are pretty cheap when you buy them used.

The Rev is reportedly still way out. And yes, the used game industry supports most of my game buying. So that won't be a problem. Besides, the way I see it, all of the GC games are new. New to me!!

Only reason I got a Gamecube was for the Resident Evil Remakes and RE4.  Also, my kids like the Bongo DK Games.  But, I would get one if I were you because they are pretty inexpensive right now and still have some good games on it now and more coming like the new Metroid.

And for Component Cables for the Gamecube, I see them on eBay all the time. Just do a search.
