So, we have a lot of old games in the Virtual Console, and backwards compatibility with the gamecube. But there were rumors (still up in the air if it was a hoax) of RE4 being remade (cleverly dubbed wii-made by 1up.com) with Wii controls. regardless of whether or not this is true, should we expect to see a lot of Gamecube games remade with Wii controls?
 
hmm.... that would be pretty cool... but i dont know if it would be worth it for developers

:lol wii-made... :lol good stuff!

IMO... the only way this will be successful is:
1.) IF they redo the controls right and don't screw them up...
2.) If they improve graphics...etc...
3.) AND add additional features worth buying into.

Otherwise, I can't see them putting the time into developing the games like that for the Wii.

I guess we've never really seen anything innovative enough to raise the thought of being remade with new controls. It is an interesting idea, but I agree with BV that they need to make sure they get the controls right.

Also seeing as the Wii is online, could we could speculate that there would be updatable content in the game or multiplayer?

And improving graphics is kind of second rate. It would be nice to see it cleaned up and any former glitches removed, but the biggest thing they would need to focus on is a slug of new content that is more than cheap gimmicks.
 
I like the idea, especially since RE4 is my favorite game of all time but it would only work if..

Is less than $20
Has enough extras
Has updated graphics
Controls don't get screwed up

Otherwise developers should just focus on making new licenses.
 
Well, the article went on to say that the rerelease would be sold at a lower price, like 29.99 or something to start. However, for the reduced launch price, I fear that they would only remap the controls. Probably no updated graphics, and most likely just a few gimmicky extras.
 
oh if RE4 came out on the wii i would stand in line for 5 days to get it. oh, dont tempt me, dont tempt me.

it would be the greatest game ever released, it would be my savior, it would PWN twilight princess
