anyone who knows theyre computers how good of a deal is this

Not to knock anyone who has a Gateway..... but I would stay away from Gateway and look for something else 1st.  They are not bad,... but lately, their service and many other things haven't been that great lately (last few years). If you get a great one... that is good.. I Am sure it'll work fine. I just remember people having problems with them though.

I agree 100% on that one. My last computer was a Gateway. And I'll never deal with them again. If my eMachine dies, it's going to the garbage can before I deal with a Gateway customer service rep.

As for the Mac, I never had one. Can't say that I hate them or like them.

IBM's good stuff. I suspect Dell will get even better. At my work, we use Dell exclusively, and got a letter from Dell that they were replacing all our hardware. That means the mini-server in the store offices, and the five or six net stations. Lotsa hardware. Anyway, the company that was building the motherbords was screwing up and refused to do anything about it. Dell fired them. And I suspect that they used the same company for their home PCs that they did for their office equipment.

I actually wished that my wife bought a Dell. But when she said she almost got a Compaq, I was content. There's always next year...

Fanboy. :lol

:lol That's cool, but I use both windows and Mac's and Mac's just blow Windows out of the water as far as actual tasks are concerned (that doesnt include games). Much more stable OS, NO VIRUSES to deal with, easy to use and is extremely compatible with third party peripherals. Not to mention they are now using Intel chips which will make it easy to port over programs that run on Windows.

now we have a compaq there always seems to be something wrong with it

nothing major just constant little stuff that ticks you off

One day I shall buy a Mac. I assume that you can't network them to Pcs??

@ Maiden, what's with the big lipped mummy for an avy? :lol
