I've been a Metal Gear nut since the 80's. I played and loved the NES classic, and remember when Solid was on the way to the PSX. If you preordered it at certain stores, you could get a playable demo disc. I was already interested, but the demo had me sold on the game. It was one of my top 5 favorites of the PSX era.
MGS2 I was a little disappointed in, especially since I didn't identify with Raiden. The story was a little tough to wrap my head around at first, but since I got Substance for PS2 it has become one of my favorite games. It has the Metal Gear magic I've come to love about the series.
Twin Snakes was a great remake, I still love playing it. How can you beat the full original game, with the MGS2 upgrades in gameplay? It's one of my favorite Gamecube games period.
And Snake Eater is quite good so far. I'm not that far in though, but I don't see myself being too disappointed in the end. It's a quality series, and as long as Konami mantains that quality, I would love to see them continue making Metal Gear games.
