getting a DS lite

The DS Castlevania games are hard to find at this point. Out of the three, Portrait of Ruin is the one that really caught my attention and kept me playing throughout. I still have to finish both Order of Ecclesia and Dawn of Sorrow.

If it is a DS lite (instead of a DSi), I'd still say Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance and Aria of Sorrow are worth seeking.

Other GBA games that look great on the DS are Metroid: Zero Mission and Final Fantasy IV: Advance.

Yeah, forgot to mention that. Side scrollers mostly I would say, like metal slug and the like. I wouldn't shy away from RPGs either. I prefer games that don't have a lot of stylus use but I'm willing to give them a try.

The Dragon Quest games for the DS are not to be missed!

Well the 2 I'd recommend are Hand of the Heavenly Bride and Chapters of the Chosen. Last time I checked Heavenly Bride was like $50, though. I'd suggest watching youtube vid's and reading reviews to find out if it's worth that much to you or not. For me it is, but I've always been a fan of the series.

This series also confuses me. There's 6 that supposedly just came out, but I see 8 and 9 for sale. So what's up with that?

One more thing, there are saga's within the series? So do I need to play some first before I jump in?

No no, they are all separate stories :) And yea I don't know what to tell you about the numbers thing lol. For example in the booklet of DQ7 for the PS1, there's an ad saying DQ6 would be coming out. So yea just don't even pay attention to that since you don't have to play them in order or anything. It's just that some are remakes I think.

Well then Metal Slug 7 is definitely worth it
Super Robot Wars: OG Saga: Endless Frontier is crazy fun. The River City games are great remakes of NES games along with Suoer Dodge Ball, they're a bit short but can be found for fairly cheap.
Infinite Space is an awesome space game with a great story and will take up a lot of time.
Elite Beat Agents is a fun rhythm game which is definitely worth the few bucks it costs
Izuna games are pretty good dungeon crawlers but are really difficult but funny as well
That's all I can think of off the top of my head

Plants Vs. Zombies on the DS is the definitive version, IMO. But, it does have stylus control, so that's something to keep in mind.

All of the Professor Layton games are awesome. I definitely recommend those.

I did hear good things about the Laytons, I'll keep those in mind. As far as PvZ, I have it on Steam and it's a game that I can't go back to anymore since I've beaten it. I can't seem to find the replay value in it.

I did end up picking up Metal Slug 7 and Pokemon SoulSilver for the moment. It's been over a decade since I've played a Pokemon title (the original red and blue.) So I figured I'd give this one a try. I was also intrigued by the pokewalker.

Why would the DS version of PvZ be better than the PC version (minus portability)?

I haven't actually played the PC version, so I guess I can't really say. But it seems like having a touch screen with a stylus would be faster than even a mouse.

Possibly, but I would say a mouse is a lot more accurate due to the fact that you have more pixels to work with. That's just my theory though. I have played it on an iTouch and I have had problems selecting the right items with my finger. That could also just be isolated to that specific device.

I prefer the DS Lite too, mostly because the colors look much sharper and crisp. On the DSi, games look dull, muted and fuzzy. It's not a really big difference between the two since they both have the same resolutions.

I have a lite but after fooling around with a friend's DSi I like the buttons way more.

DS Lite has these smushy buttons like the original gameboy but the DSi feel like the GBA sp

Oh also some other games you should get are Feel The Magic and The Rub Rabbits. They do use a lot of the touch screen/mic functions but are a lot of fun like Warioware

Yeh, the DS Lite buttons suck big time. Gonna buy those games you just mentioned. Looked em up and they seem pretty cool.
