God of War 3 announced for the PS3!

Yes, and they're even thinking about a cooperative mode....if that happens, they'd have to introduce another character...hmm. :)

Also, since Sony's finally settled its dispute with Immersion, the creators of God of War are saying this new one will have SIXAXIS features and rumble features. :D

God of War III is to be the fourth installment in the God of War video game franchise. It is to be released for the PlayStation 3 video game console, with a tentative release date of 2009. It is the fifth chapter in the series chronologically, after God of War: Chains of Olympus, God of War,God of War: Betrayal, and God of War II.

Though little is known about the game at this point, it was confirmed to be in development by Cory Barlog at a God of War II launch event. He revealed that the game would run at full 1080p HD resolution, and the game would support SIXAXIS tilt and vibration functions. This statement was rather odd as the SIXAXIS controller does not currently support rumble; however, Sony executives have settled their dispute with Immersion, who are responsible for the rumble technology in both PlayStation and PlayStation 2 controllers and have agreed to integrate rumble technology to PlayStation products. This means that the rumble feature will be added to a future version of the current PlayStation 3 controller, like its predecessors. Barlog also expressed an interest in adding a cooperative mode "if we can do something unique with it". [1]

It was mentioned in a recent interview that God of War III will explain why there are no more Greek gods.

@Homi, no release date news yet, but I'll keep you informed. :)

@Spartan...lol well of course this isn't surprising, neither will tons of other PS3 exclusives that are named later on, but it's good to finally have confirmation. :)

It's a mobile game.

God of War: Betrayal is a 2-dimensional side scrolling hack and slash video game based on the previous games in the God of War series, released on June 20th 2007. Chronologically, it takes place directly after God of War I (although it was wrongfully reported that it followed God of War II [1]). Unlike the others, it is played on mobile phones. It is currently available on AT&T Mobility, Verizon Wireless, Sprint Nextel, T-Mobile (USA) and Boost Mobile[2].

Did you complain about the price once you had the money?

It seems to be the case that people complain about the price of said console until they actually buy one.

But back on topic...the moment a release date is revealed for GOW3, I'm preordering it...paying for it in full. :)

how will it have rumble features??? :? :? :?

Sony has settled its dispute with Immersion, the prime reason the PS3 couldn't have rumble to begin with. Now, since the dispute is over and done with (it started in 2002), PS3 controllers will have rumble coming in a couple months I believe.

Most likely with the new $400 PS3 to pull people towards it and its lack of reverse compatibility.

Odd, all of my PS2 games work on my PS3. They recently had a firmware update that helped.
