God of War - Chains of Olympus Discussion

Too bad the controls will suck.

Come on dude, after the PSP has been out how many years now?

If they really can't make the controls work with being a first party and having had development kits for as long as the PSP has been out, maybe it's just the system that sucks. If they are good developers though they should honestly be able to work around the PSP's control issues.

I just got word I will be receiving a free UMD demo of this game! :D

Actually, everyone agrees controls are bad on just about every PSP game. A lot of PSP games are from PS2 games, where there's more shoulder buttons and another analog stick.

The release date is March 4, 2008.

Though it's unclear when God of War 3 will skewer the PlayStation 3, the series' debut on the PlayStation Portable now has a firm date. Today, during a visit to Ready at Dawn, GameSpot was told by the developer that God of War: Chains of Olympus will go on sale March 4, 2008.

God of War: Chains of Olympus has not yet been priced or rated. However, given the Greek mythology-inspired series' ultraviolent nature, an M-for-Mature rating is almost assured. Once again, the game will star Kratos, the fierce Spartan who took on the gods themselves in the first two games. Chains tells an original story set between the unfortunate death of Kratos' family and the start of the original God of War, which sees the warrior tracking down monsters in a fantastical version of ancient Greece.

[UPDATE] Despite the jam-packed nature of this holiday season, March will seem like a long time for many to play Chains of Olympus. Ready at Dawn agrees, and will give North American gamers a God of War fix early. At the end of September, those who signed up for the game's demo earlier this year on the game's official Web site will receive a special-edition demo UMD containing a portion of a playable level as well as additional content, including a behind-the-scenes video of the game's development. A standard demo UMD, featuring only the level portion, will be available later in the year.

For more information, check back Monday for GameSpot's exclusive preview of God of War: Chains of Olympus, which will include a look at a previously unseen level, as well as interviews with the game's design team.

inside...a collector's item GoW necklace....a coupon for $15 off a PSP system at Best Buy...and the PLAYABLE DEMO of GOD OF WAR: CHAINS OF OLYMPUS!

I got this a couple of weeks ago. It's a great game.

I always thought it was funny adding a coupon for a PSP. You wouldn't have the demo if you didn't have one already, right?
