Not the prologue crap, the REAL deal.

Gran Turismo has always had a weird feeling because the feeling is realistic. We don't know what it's like to control some of these crazy fast cars. It's definitely the best racing sim out there.

This game is going to be the only racing game I think I'll ever need. They just introduced create-a-track and kart racing. They literally have everything a racing fan would want in this.

I know that, and its usually a plus. I love the Forza series, but I couldn't get used to how the GT games feel. Regardless I will rent it at the very least.

Nice bump and prove that the game is finally becoming ready for release after 5-6 years? lol

Gah, I keep thinking I can 'like' stuff on this site. I really gotta cut it out. :lol

I have this preordered, idk if we're doing a midnight for it or not, but I'll be getting it after work Monday night regardless. Cannot WAIT.

Well, it arrived. lol

Was anyone else just a little underwhelmed with it though?

I haven't personally played it, but I've read many reviewers express some dissatisfaction with it. Basically from what I gather, it's a good game, but not nearly as ground breaking as it was hyped to be {but really, when is that not the case!}. Some complaints don't seem that bad to me and I actually see them as positive {such as increased difficulty and only being able to win a car once, thus not allowing you to keep winning/selling a certain car}. But I was quite disappointed to hear they still use those darn "cardboard cutouts" for trees and onlookers. By all means I am not usually too concerned with graphics, but with the GT series I absolutely am! I want the experience to be as realistic as possible. But regardless of that I still can't wait to play the crap out of it once I can afford a PS3!

I have this. Best. Racing. Simulator. Ever. Most reviewers failed to review it as a simulator, and were looking for all the bells and whistles. The realism in this game is insane. When driving in real life, I was picturing blue guide lines when making turns. :lol

The only complaint I have are the load times. It's a monstrous install at just over 8 GB's, but it's well worth it if you have the room. I don't really notice the trees or people and whatnot, cause when I'm racing, I keep my eyes on my car, the road, and the competition. From what I see of the courses and the surrounding areas is simply gorgeous though.

I love the addition of used cars as well. You can find some golden classics and very rare cars there. The amount of work you can put into your car is staggering. I spent almost 2 hours on one car just to get it top notch for ONE race. :lol

Well to be fair, the reviews I was mentioning were from long time GT fans who've been playing the series since GT1 {such as myself}, so I do feel like their reviews are credible and the complaints are valid. And while I would personally rather have the graphical detail focused on the cars and the actual road, it's just disappointing they have not done away with the cardboard cutout backgrounds. There's really no excuse for it as even Xbox racers had 3d backgrounds. But really, it's a small complaint and I am very pleased to hear they finally added damage and some great cockpit views! I just need these paychecks to start rolling in so I can get this sucker grrrr! :D

Oh, it is definitely worth playing and is much better than your average racer, it was just a bit of a let down after the all the delays and hype. It didn't WOW me like GT3 did, or even GT2 for that matter and I really was expecting it to. I'm still playing it quite a lot though, so they got something right.

The graphics are not the best out there (the premium cars excepted), and some it of it just seems like GT4 in HD, but it does play very well and that's the main thing.

The less said the better regarding the online play.... :lol

Yeah, I'm one of those guys who've been fans since the first. :lol

But yeah, I think you'll like it. :)
