GREAT MOMENTS IN YOUR GAMING HISTORY!

Hell Scyth

Rock Hard, Dead or Alive
Being someone whos played many games throughout my life, I realise that to get better, you need to really challenge yourself. And it's when that time comes where you reach a point you can't breach, that we are really tested. And when we manage to finally breach that point, the tension lifts, the sweating stops, and you can wallow in your own satisfaction that you know you've just crossed the line once more!

What the hell am I talking about? I'm talking about great moments of TRIUMPH! Simply post up your greatest moment in gaming history, where you pushed yourself past all your limits and acheived what you thought impossible.

Mine was when I was playing Soul Blade. I was five, and going against Soul Edge was a nightmare! Got so far in Arcade Mode, then finally beat Cervantes, but once Soul Edge appeared. It was suicide. proabbly 500 trys later, and I managed to beat him, but only with a margain of my health left. That was the first Fighting Game I'd ever played, and after that, Soul Edge was no more than a toy.

Mine is probably when i realized you could change the difficulty in Oblivion... i almost cried

Mine was probably when I finally unlocked pretty much every outfit, weapon etc. in the, um, something mode on Soul Callibur II. My save was destroyed just a few days later and I haven't played SC in any way, shape or form since. It just brings back bad memories... :(

It never happened to me personally, but I did witness it.

My roommate played Final Fantasy 12 in the most ridiculous way possible. He was so eager to see the next cut scene he did not do a single sidequest or waste any time levelling up his characters (he didn't even know you had to buy new armor until a quarter of the way through the game.

Anyway, there was one part of the game where he had to kill one of those plant monster thingies, but it was kind of a boss battle because there were a number of them and they all used different magic on you. Eventually he won. At this point the game expected him to retrieve the item he won to a boy that was in an area he previously explored, save there, and then venture deeper into this temple. My roommate figured that there had to be a save point somewhere in the actual temple, so he wouldn't worry about doing this sidequest, at least not yet.

One way or another 4 hours of dungeon crawling later he enters a room and a boss appears, he hadn't come across a save stone yet. It is a ghost that splits off several decoys which are nearly indistinguishable. Because it had been so long since he saved he stood to lose 4 hours of playtime if he died. I had never seen a boss fight so intense as that one. Numerous times throughout the battle I thought it was impossible, that there was no way he could pull it off. But little by little he managed to widdle the boss' health down, and it kept getting closer and closer. It finally all came down to a gamble. He had one character left, and he only had enough magic to raise a few of his characters, or gamble on a magic attack that may or may not take the remaining life of the boss away. Needless to say, he pulled it off, by the skin of his teeth (I think his last character alive had something like 60hp). I think I actually cheered when it was over (about 30-45 min. of boss fighting). A couple walkthroughs I perused afterward all said he was something like 10 levels below where his characters should have been, and he was also lacking a sidequest item that would make the boss considerably easier. In other words, for what he had done in the game, he wasn't supposed to beat that boss. :lol

In Kingdom Heats II, When you battle that one winged angel guy at hollow bastion, you get hit 3 times with full health and your dead.

after 24 hours :-\ :-\ :-\ 48 hours i got better at it (at about the 5000 try) 72 hours :P :P I was determined 96 hours ( the fourth day) i could get 3/4 of his health done :P :drool :drool :drool ::D 120 hours 7/8 of his health gone 144 hours (6th day) :z :nope :sick :drool :'( :help :hh :hh :hh >:( :( :-\ :) ;) ;D :D :lol after almost 150 hours of playin the frickin game i beat him. :woot :woot :rockin :woot :woot :woot :woot :rockin :woot i thing i bragged about it for 2 months....maybe 3... oh, well......

The first time I reached 999,990 points on Pac-Man in the local arcade, back when crowds of people would gather 'round to watch. Awesome. :D

Um...Just off the top of my head:

First fighting the flood in halo, while pulling an all nighter on coop with a friend.

Using the pegasus boots to get the book from the shelf on Zelda: ALTTP...lol i thought i was so clever.

The first time playing morrowind...lol...i was so confused.

Beating Kotor after dedicating every moment of a 3 day weekend to it.

Mine was playing CnC Renegade (FPS CnC spinoff). I was playing it online and for SEVEN straight hours I sat at my PC, playing. I finally ended it by nuking half of their base. By the end of the game, I had 40,000 points (the normal amount for me was maybe 1 or 2 thousand) and I came in first place for the game. It ended at 3 in the morning and I had to take 3 Advil so my headache would go away so I could sleep. :lol

It may not seem like much, but playing for seven hours without eating or drinking, single-handedly taking out half of my enemies buildings, and coming in first place wasn't easy.

oh you mean SEPHIROTH!!!

Geeze! I think I just toppled my new level of playing! I was playing Dynasty Warriors 5: Empires most the darn night last night because I had it set on Choas diffculty!!!! It was a "Do or Die" situation. I had no Tactics, not useful items, half the ammount of troops my enemy had, and only my main camp! And I desperatey wanted to get my Lv4 unlocked! And to top it off, my Ruler was there, so if I lost, It was all over, and the Oficer I was using wasn't even that powerful! AND THE ENEMY HAD Guan Yu AND Zang Fei! (For those who have no idea, those are practcally the toughest little b****rds in the game! Even on Easy!)
Anyway, I had the Guan Yu and two other oficers on me, I had half my health (so one hit from Guan Yu meant death) and the only thing I had to defend me from slaughter was my Tiger. And it wasn't helping!
So this was my 6th time trying this battle (because I saved before it all, smart move!) I get kncoked backwards, I thought I was dead, but my health was barely above zero, I pulled off a Musou, blasted the three officers away, ran, and to my luck, found a Full Recovery! MY heart was racing!!! Death was staring me right there, and failure looming over that, and somehow, with shear luck, I managed to survive the battle, win, and get my Lv4 weapon! And to top it off, those two really powerful officers got captured, and because they refused to be hired, I executed them! NOW I'M KICKIN' REAR END!!!! YAY! :D

Mine would definitely have to be acing Drop Out (9/10 difficulty with tons of jumps) on DDR in the arcade. Crazy stuff. That was back then, though... I play at home now.

this may sound Lame but i was playing kingdom hearts (one not two.) and i was fighting sethrouidofotjgojgp. (however you spell his name) and i played so long (all night on a school night. :p) and i beat him before i had to get ready for school. it felt great and my mom didnt suspect a thing. (master lies!! :D)

Sephiroth is he even on the first one?

Getting past the part in the Warthog near the end of Halo. That was so awesome!

Beating Metroid Fusion. It took me forever and I was stuck on the last boss and then one day I sat down and I said, "I'm going to beat this today!" and I did. It was cool. ^_^

Doing 999,999 damage with Anima against Sin in FFX. Actually the whole last battle sequence was cool. I actually was quite overpowered from leveling in the Omega Ruins for so long.

Catching Legendary Pokemon without Master Balls. I've done it a lot and it's still satisfying every time. ^_^

There's more but I can't think of them at the moment.

Battling the last boss in Legend of Dragoon for two hours straight. Got him down to like almost nothing, and he pulls an instant death attack on my last party member standing. Not once. Not twice. But three friggin' times!! I started the game over from the begining and now I am blasting through everything with ease.

1. Beating God of War 1 on God mode.

2. Beating Sephiroth in KH 2

3. Catching Groudon with a POKE ball.

4. The Shadow of the Colossus ending :'(

Beating Pokemon Pearl with every single item i could find all berries that i could find, beating elite four twice with ease.
i beat all legendaries i could find too. 83 hours into it too. :D Still not done. :lol
