Mainstream rapper, I'd go with Jay-Z or Eminem.
Lyrically I'd go with MC Frontalot, though he may be a niche rapper, as all Nerdcore Rappers are, his lyrics are amazing.
But, overall, you have to agree that Flight of the Concords are the greatest, I mean they invented Hip Hop, in Australia.
