GTA 4

I like the game a lot but it's still just GTA and hardly one of the best games ever. If you didn't enjoy the old ones you're probably not going to like this one, either. Vice City is still my fave of the series.
 
ugh...who the hell in the right mind "GTA IS AN ACQUIRED TASTE?" nooooo MGS is an ACQUIRED TASTE...not everybody can play that...its a game thas only liked by ppl who play those types of games. GTA is adore by the MASSES...jus cuz YOU dont like it, doesnt mean MOST ppl dont like it. Some of you guys really are self-centered and need to jus wake up and smell the gunpowder. GTA is an incredible game from a technical standpoint, a sheer variety standpoint, and a fun standpoint. I am NEVER bored playing GTA Multiplayer becuz, there is never "nothing to do" u guys are sittin here pickin apart a really great game. Just play it...seriously...just play it...beat it...play a 16 man deathmatch...and ask urself how do u feel...u feel like a
badass

there is nothing MINDLESS about GTA Frodus...if GTA is mindless...what makes Call of Duty NOT mindless? all u do is shoot ppl. thas it...thas the game...kill ppl. thas games for u. games are supposed to be about having fun in ways u wouldnt be able to otherwise. if u can tell me that gettin 5 stars, gettin in the nearest minivan, crashin into a river, swimming to NEW JERSEY...stealing a brand new SuperGT from some old bitty with her friend in the passenger seat while they listen to FUZION, and gettin away with it by flippin ur car over JUST OUTSIDE OF THE SEARCH ZONE isnt fun..u have no soul...
 
Parts of GTA are indeed mindless. If you want to do nothing but screw around, steal a bunch of cars, and run people over, you can in GTA, and I think you'll agree that that is pretty mindless. That's not to say that the entire game is mindless, but some of it is pretty random and mindless.
 
CoD4 was mindless and since when was this was a CoD4 discussion? GTA has always marketed that in there games you can do what you want. And most of the time it is one of the things I have suggested. And really how are you different from the people that didn't like the game like you did. You say that people are self-centered because they are just stating that they didn't like the game. And you say that GTA isn't an acquired taste when in all actuality all games are an acquired taste.

Yes, but that is the beauty of GTA games. I like that when I want to play serious, I can do missions or some sort of side quest, but if I am tired from working or something and just want some quick action, I can just "screw" around. Basically, I have come to the point in my life where I need to play games that I can "walk away" from for days, or even weeks, and not be extremely lost when I turn it back on. Hence why I hardly play RPG's anymore, real life just gets in the way too much :-\

I agree with you there. The fact that GTA can be mindless at times isn't a bad thing. It only gives GTA more variety which is one of the most appealing things about it.
