Ok, admittedly I've never played through the 1st player of Halo 2, but I have played parts of it and the story has been explained to me by a friend. Personally I thought it was cool.
It was a nice twist to have your previous enemies become your allies, and then to actually play as them was kind of neat. I dunno, as far as videogame plots go I thought it was pretty good (except for the end, of course, there was like no conclusion, but whatever). I mean, being the sole survivor of humanity... it's been done, in fact it was done in the first Halo. I liked that they tried to expand the Halo universe a bit, give it some depth even.
