And all this brings us back to square one, opinions. What's great for you Microsoft people may not seem great for Sony or Nintendo people. Hell, it may not even seem that great for Microsoft people.

Since you are correct that it all comes down to preference, I'm just going on popular opinion, and in terms of reviews, and generally reception by gamers, the 360 has more great games. That better?
 
see, you twist it around and try to say that i think my opinions are law

a lot of kiddie games is a FACT, not an opinion. i dont "think" a game is for kids, a game is just for kids

the xbox 360 has a wide variety of games, contrary to your "shooter only" argument

while the wii has bad shooters, cheap puzzle games, and ps2 ports

Yes, I will accept that, because you have evidence to support it and you're not just basing it off of personal preference.

@Hines: Twist it around? That post just basically emphasized that personality trait.

Don't get me wrong, I think the 360 is the best console right now, but I don't think that's a reason to undersell the other consoles.

Yeah, that's how I feel about it, too. The 360 has had a while to get the games; the PS3 and Wii haven't hit their strides yet.

Once again, opinionated post. When you can prove that SPM is a gimmick, I'll shut up. But until then, I shall keep arguing that the only platform that you can stand on is the one of your own personal opinions.

I just felt changing ur view in the game was a gimmick like oh look at me i can do this and other games cant and it was annoying IMO

Im not trying to undersell the other consoles. Im just stating that the PS3 and Wii dont have as many hardcore games. I love my 360 and PS3 but until the Wii gets Brawl i wont touch it.

Also i wanna ask u guys what do u think a hardcore game is to u?

I don't think that hardcore games are any different than a regular game. To me, if a game can provide me with great entertainment, a fun experience, and a great feeling of triumph after successfully beating it, that, to me, is what I define as a good game. Hardcore and regular games are like Catholics and Methodists. Still a religion, still a game.
 
OPINION ALERT! :lol

I don't think the list of games did the Wii justice. That being said, we all know that the Wii will have great games in the future, as will each system. It has the least amount of hardcore games out of all three consoles, but hardcore doesn't always mean fun. It is important to have an equal balance though, where as I think the PS3 and 360 are doing a better job right NOW.

I agree.

I think hardcore vs. casual is irrelevant. Who cares if a game is casual or hardcore as long as you enjoy it? Games are supposed to be for fun.

i agree with you, with jack and mai. if wii sports was more deep like madden it would be a hardcore game.
and i don't think super paper mario is gimmick (except the use of the stylish moves) is a good game but it would be the same on the gamecube.

besides the games that i want for the wii are all hardcore, i'm no casual gamer :lol (well except for wariware i love it :lol) wich console is better it depends on your own opinion, but in a more technical way the wii is winning because of its sales.

but i have to admit, this list mentions some games that are not good at all (prince of persia rival swords)
 
Perfect reaction. Yeah, the list is so old, Zack and Wiki is still Treasure Island Z. As you should have read in my post, for this, hardcore=idiot proof. Your mom couldn't beat these games. Doesn't matter how crappy a game is, it's still defined. Jack is way right though, a bunch of simple games are way more fun than most 'hardcores'. I mean, Hines, you obsess over Meteos, and it's a little puzzle game. Picross DS, Little Big World, Echochrome, Geometry Wars, the games are all fun. Geometry Wars has the depth of a puddle and the replay value of a sim. Not to mention it's fun as hell. And just because a game isn't hardcore doesn't mean you should dismiss it. Look at the arcade way back when. Huge and simple. Super Mario Bros. One of the most influential games of all time, and it's simple. Pac-Man, Tetris, all that stuff. Huge impacts.
 
oh, of course, of course. simple, childish games are always appreciated (i actually mean that, i wasnt being sarcastic.) i mena, i love to have ALL kinds of games in my collection, hardcore or not

like i have hardcore games, such as the entire zelda series, and i have mainstream games that are accesible to everyone, like mariokart games.
 
Anyone else realize that you can pretty much consider every single NES title as casual, due to it having to be simplistic? But the NES was and is huge. It's not a bad thing to be casual.
