i want to buy a neo geo cd as i have 100 games for it please advise me on what console to buy i live in london

All 3 systems have their benefits if you really look into it. The front loader is rarest..and some people like it because it fits well into entertainment centers, The top loader is said to be the most sturdy and dependable of all, and cheapest as well.

The CDZ offers twice as fast loading times on most CD games thanks to more memory. However some people have said they can tend to overheat or become unreliable (I have not seen proof of this)

After deciding which system you want you'll need to decide which country you want..US or Japan made system. With the US system all your games will play in english (except the very few Japanese only releases) and blood, fatalities and bouncy Mai will be censored :(

The Japanese console has no censoring at all, but the downside is that you'll have to play your games in Japanese language.

There is a relativly simple modification that can be done to install a region switch on a top loader system to allow play on either JPN or US regions..you need some soldering skills though.

And finally..being in the UK like you are, you'll need a step down converter for the AC adapter on the NGCD system.

I suggest you buy from a reliable seller such as Gameaddiction..the owner of this site and forum's online store..he has the best prices you will find with a 30 day gaurantee to go along with it.

And to end this post I want to ask..why do you have 100 games for the NGCD but no system? If what you have are iso's or CDR backup games you will run into problems trying to play them on an actual NGCD system.

If you want Great sound get the single speed systems, if you want fast loading times but not so great sounding music/audio get the cdz. both systems play cdrs fine when protection is cracked. cdz IS unreliable sometimes causing you to turn off the system and reboot. It seems to load games too fast sometimes and not getting the correct data from the cd during initial boot. I have run into this problem on Metal Slug for example and got corrupt char. gfx during the gameplay. although its rare, but has occured on all of my CDZ consoles.
Note: CDZ is japan only and made for thier 100 volt power only, playing them in another counrty without the step down transformer will cause it to eventually overheat and burn out. I use a step down transformer for my Japan consoles and never had any overheating problems with the cdz's personally.

You actually read the text? Which game is that on?  ::)

But really, the Neo Geo CD is an action (arcade) based system, so for the most part reading the text is optional.
 
I just recently bought an MVS system.

These are really cheap (paid $70 on Fleebay), and the games are also cheap (many under or around $20).

You will have to buy a Jamma connector and solder (or twist) together some wires for power and video output.

A PC power supply works good for power and a RGB monitor (Commodore 1084 or similar) works for the display. If you get an MVS-1 model, you can use Neo Geo joysticks.

You can also buy a Jamma to composite video board for around $100. But, an RGB monitor can sometimes be found for a lot less.
