i got the ring of death like 4 times when i turned it on, and once when i turned it on (no RoD that time) i didnt get a video signal.

now it seems to be working fine, but one time i turned it on the little symbol in the middle of the power button wouldnt stop blinking

WHATS WRONG!?

it works FINE NOW

i dont want it to break on christmas :'( :'( :'(
 
I've heard that if the plug's like half coming out then it'll read as a fatal error in the xbox and give you the rings. But you should call them.
 
Make sure it's on a flat surface. If it's on something that's even remotely wobbly or unstable, it can cause the system to do a false 3RROD.
 
And don't forget to check its power light on the cable, if it's not green when the console's on, it'll say it's dead.
 
Not as long as you would want it to. I say shut it off for the day to be safe.

It normally only works for (on average) another day after you do that. At least that's what I've read in like blogs and junk after people do that. That seriously blows that it red ringed 3 days before Christmas. The sooner you send it in, the sooner you'll get it back...
 
i read that one guy got his working for 2 months after doing it

and even if it is for one day, i can do it everyday until xmas break is over

EDIT - apparantly the towel trick works, i just played gears of war for 20 minutes no problems

i turned it off tho, dont want to overwork it :-\
