I know its so horrible and sad.

I saw it on the news boxing day 26/12 and the dead is still rising. They think that it was rise to about 55,000 in the end.

Its a shame that they didn't get any warning. The earthquake and all was 2 hours away from where it hit.

Such a said day.... :'(
 
Yea, today the confirmed toll is 44,000 :o....I feel so bad for poorer countries like that cause they had no warning what-so-ever and now there all gonna get sick cause they do not have adequate drinking water and all the bodies are decaying thus producing air born disease. The news or whatever estimates that the death toll from the disease alone may be greater than the actual event. :-\
 
Aparantly it's hit the 70'000 mark.

This is definately one of the most tragic events i've lived through. It scares me to think it could happen again.
 
well.. its now supposed to reach over 100,000

Dang.... in a few hours.... thats killed more than wars that have taken in years.

My one friend remarked that it reminded them of the movie "The Day After Tomorrow". This seemed all the more true when we (central Canada) found out that a huge blizzard was headed straight for us. We're accustomed to snow and blizzards and such here so I didn't think too much of it, but apparently they've estimated the exact time so that people can make sure they're not on the roads or outside when it hits.

Mother Nature's not goin down without a fight.

We actually just caught the side of it, the brunt of it passed a city north of ours. Supposedly it was a complete white out there, which I believe because we got it "mild" and we still got a good foot or two of snow. I went over to a friend's house for a couple hours last night and when my friend and I were leaving his car had a couple inches of snow on the roof and hood and any foot prints we made walking to his house were completely filled and higher than before. It was nuckin futs.

I hope we get it :) or at least a piece. Man... we had warm weather... all 3-4 inches of snow melted last night and this morning. We woke up... and it looked like spring. It was wierd :lol

I think its headed due east, so I don't think it will move too far south.

We got another 10-15 cm of snow today (3-4 inches) and its still not letting up. Driving is near impossible unless you've got some kind of 4 wheel drive. A couple people on my street tried driving their cars and got stuck backing out of their driveway. I'm just hoping the power doesn't go down...
 
I saw this on the AOL homepage today. People just suck.

Friends and relatives desperately seeking news of loved ones after the Asian tsunami have been plagued by hoax emails saying they are dead.

Messages purportedly from Government officials have been sent to people who placed appeals for information on the Sky News Web site.

Police said they were treating the matter as a "very serious crime" and have launched a full investigation.

A spokesman said: "The Metropolitan Police Service would like to reassure the public that these messages are hoaxes.

Can you believe people would be sick enough to do that? Sadly enough though, I can. :-\

I hope they're caught.
 
Man there are really some sick ppl out there if they do that sort of thing....i mean how could any one ever think of doing something like that...
