Homebrew on Wii

Do any of you guys run any homebrew applications or games on your Wii?

Before anyone gets the wrong idea, I'm talking strictly about applications and games made by homebrew developers and released totally free. I'm not talking about piracy or pirated games, just homebrew applications and/or games. ;)

I never tried it... what sort of features does the homebrew you use provide?

Well here is a fairly comprehensive list of legal homebrew applications...

Myself, personally, I use homebrew to play Wii games off of an external USB hard drive, play Mp3s, watch DVDs, read comic scans, play home made games, and play back-ups of my old console collection with emulators. Right now I have Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Genesis, and Turbo Graffix 16 running on my Wii through emulation. I also use homebrew apps to change my Wii's region code so that I can play imports and Japanese VC releases.

The biggest advantage for me though, is the ability to use an external USB HDD to store all my Wii games on, thus eliminating discs. That way I don't wear out my Wii's DVD disc drive, or mess up my games. I just pop them into the Wii and copy them to the HDD, and play them straight off of there. They also load much faster too, from a HDD.
