How Far Would You Go?

Hello Everyone,It's been so long since I last posted,I almost forgot everyone's name. :)

I happened to catch a documentary on TV with respect to human organ transplants. It was certainly interesting to see the lengths which people will go to to save a loved ones life. Some good, some bad, some downright malevolent.

The show basically examined the different methods that people would do to save a family members life, however disturbing. These are the options that these people have.

1. Keep the sick person in the hospital to sustain their life until their name on the list of transplants comes up.

2.Consider family and friends for a possible match that the body won't reject. These last 3 options really rock the boat.

3.If you have enough scratch, pay people under the table to put you at the top of the list.(Or by any means necessary to get the implant.(Money is power)

4.Use your money to buy the organ on the "Black Market"

5.Pay someone a lot of money to capture, sedate, and ultimately go to a place to hide and remove some poor soul's kidney, stitch them back up,inject painkillers and sedatives and put them on a bench in the park somewhere, until they come to and realize what happened, the ultimate invasion.

I know this is disturbing material, but it's reality these days.If some millionaire has a grandaughter who needs an implant from someone they don't even know because none of the family can match it the right way without being rejected. You have this big wig with a pile of money, that loves his little grandaughter more than life itself, will pay someone an insane amount of money to capture someone, sedate them and pull the ultimate pickpocket, without any thought at all to the poor soul who is going have to endure a robbery of the greatest magnitude, for the rest of his life.

How brutal of a world we live in.

God help us.

first off let me say

Wasn't it, like, two days?

Hi fhqwhgads,

I was just kidding, the fact that it was only 2 days was the joke.Normally it would be something you would say if you were gone away for a long time.A little sarcasm that's all. :lol

I wouldn't do anything that would affect other people in a negative way, but I would do anything else I could to help them. I know my family would. When I was in the hospital last yeah they thought I might need a kidney, more than one of my family members volunteered without hesitation. So, I would do anything for them.

Man's will to survive knows no bounds. I'm sorry to say I'm not shocked in the least that people will go so far to get an organ transplant and stave off death for a few more years.

Kaz, I suggest getting a second job. It seems that you have a lot of time to sit and think. Maybe a hobby? I hear quilting can be fun. I know that if I had more time to relax, all kinds of weird questions will pop into my head. I am too busy to sleep sometimes.

As for your question, if it was me, I'd get on the list and hope for the best and expect the worst. Nobody was ever guaranteed an equal amount of time on this earth. If it was one of my kids, I'd get them on the list and hope for the best and expect the worst. But only then I'll call every day and pester, threaten and bargain their name higher on the list.

Especially when society teaches the "all about me" mentality.

Dude, that was a Simpson's episode. The one where Bart was coerced by Homer into donating his blood to Mr. Burns. The end result was Burns gave them a card, not the cash. If you could save someone, you should make an effort, not a deposit. Children deserve a shot at life, if you could help them, I think you should.

I know this might seem a touch obvious, but perhaps you may want to play some video games to pass the time.
