How Has "Gaming" Enriched Other Aspects Of Your Life?(If It Has At All)

What's Up Guys/Gals?

Being a "Gamer" has enriched my life in a few ways.I'm sure we all know the satisfaction of finally getting by a certain level or killing an extremely difficult boss in an "RPG" or another genre.Video games have taught me to have patience with respect to other things in my life.

When I'm playing chess,I find it easier to deal with pressure better from an opponents attack, because I've learned to have patience dealing with a video game's challenges,I'm less likely to lose my cool and make a bad move in chess which could cost me the game.

Some video games I play use words that I'm not familiar with,so I look them up in the online dictionary. If I hear a word on TV that I can't define,I look it up.The better your vocabulary is,the better conversation becomes.Video games have taught me excellent "Hand-Eye" coordination, which has improved my basketball dribbling skill.

The feeling of satisfaction obtained from finally reaching a goal in video games is good for the mind. These aspects, and how they integrate with each other are often not known by a non-gamer who just chalks up gaming as just another unproductive activity. That couldn't be further from the truth,in my opinion.

Godspeed,
Kaz

Accomplishing goals in general are good for moral. People are suckers for a sense of accomplishment.

For me personally, I'm a sucker for accomplishment as well. I also get a huge sense of satisfaction when playing with friends and family. I really love playing games with my nephews when they come to visit. I also get a really big sense of satisfaction from playing my older games.

Some games have a lot of history to them, such as the WWII games. You can learn all kinds of stuff from games.

I would be careful with that. There's a lot of fiction interwoven with any fact found in games. Not saying you can't learn anything from games, just saying to be cautious with what you learn from games.

For myself? Games tend to keep me sane. They provide relaxation for me, and as you guys mentioned a certain sense of accomplishment at times. But I mostly use games to de-stress/have fun.
