Well anywhos, I still need to buy a new PS2 cause half the times it doesn't work.

Cuz you might want to try taking it apart and cleaning the lense: it happened to me a few years ago and its been working great ever since then

It took a two foot fall off a shelf and it hasn't been the same. Nah I don't think it's the lens cause it only does it for certain games at certain parts. For example when I play Zone of the Enders, I'll go into the first town and it'll completely freeze up. It'll start playing the music and everything, but I can do anything I want to the PS2 (take the disc out, put a different one in, whack it a few times) and it'll stay on that black screen with the music still playing.
 
what gen is it i know the first and second gens had the disc read error problems even on brand new games

So it's "special" now?? :lol If it fell, you probably broke something inside. Mayeb a trip to the round file is the only way to fix the problem...
