I don't think Zelda '05 will be as good as OoT

Many of Nintendo's franchise games haven't been as good this gen as they were for the N64, and I don't see that changing with Zelda '05 unless Nintendo really gets it together.

OoT still has the best dungeons, the best bosses, and the best sidequests of any Zelda game (IMO).

Recent Zeldas, including Wind Waker, Majora's Mask, and Minish Cap, have had too few dungeons and bosses that were too easy.

I know that Nintendo can't please everyone, but I hope that they at least put an equal amount of dungeons as were in OoT, and make the bosses more interesting to fight.

Hopefully they won't drop the ball and it will be better than I expect. :)

Well it's due to the fact you cannot top a classic, it's alot to compete against.

Yet doubting the new Zelda is time out for you Mai....BlueVoodu will be very upset :D

Seriously, it's too early to tell right now. The newest Zelda looks top notch and brings back the "field" roaming which I felt was missing in Wind Waker

It'll be great. I loved with Wind Waker.... AFTER a long bout of hating it due to the graphics change.... I had JUST as much fun with that as I did OOT or MM.

I still will debate that OOT is better than ALTTP or MM....

Each game is good in their own right.

That said, I think that the new zelda will rock. You know..... I have to be honest though, a lot of games / gaming has lost its magic. I haven't been enjoying it as much as I used to. I am not changing either... I still love games. BUT We've seen a lot of good games. The N64 era was the command times of good gaming if you ask me. We were so spoiled with awesome games, that many of the games today cannot compete.... no matter how good they are.

Honestly, I think thats the problem. Nintendo has made so many outstanding games that people come to expect too much from them. And might I add... WHO CARES if it isn't as good as OOT? At least we get another good Zelda with a cool story.... get to fight more monsters in a new quest :)

I suppose it would be surprising that I would doubt it.

But I've found that if I am too hyped about games then I don't enjoy them as much as I enjoy games that I wasn't excited about, or as much as games that I pick up on a whim.

I wasn't hyped about Tales of Symphonia or God of War (PS2) at all, and they've turned out to be two of my favorite games this generation.

I'm just trying to keep my expectations low so that I can be pleasantly surprised.  :)

Honestly, I don't think any game, Zelda or not, will ever top OOT. But I do think the new Zelda will be better than Majoras Mask and WW. Any Zelda game is good really, but man, theres just something about OOT.....

Could it be since it was the 1st 3D game?

There was A LOT of hype around it too that could have played into that liking.
I honestly thought Majoras Mask was really close to OOT in every aspect.
Wind Waker..... man, I love that game as well..... I really really grew fond of it. IN fact, that was my surprise title. I thought I was going to hate it... until I saw it in action on CNN.
My mouth dropped. Then I was blown away when on the dragon mountain with all the ash blowing everywhere.

Thats some amazing stuff.

Wind Waker is beautiful. But it's also a tedious fetch-quest in the later part of the game; there's not enough dungeons; and the bosses are too easy. Graphics alone don't make a game great, which is another reason why I'm still iffy about the new Zelda. Sure it looks pretty, but will the gameplay be there to back it up?

"Sure it looks pretty, but will the gameplay be there to back it up?"

Exactly...I don't think there was ever one moment in OOT that felt tedious or boring to me. I can't say the same about MM. Deliver this, deliver that..sighs..Just stick with the Zelda formula... ;)

i hav eto say oot is pretty much the best zelda around and i hope that they make they new one similar if not better this is like a plea to nintendo I NEED A NEW ZELDA! lol :lol

Yeah, WW wasn't in the same leauge as OoT because the dungeons and bosses were too easy. And a lot was re-vamped from OoT. I did a lot of puzzles thinking that i've done them before.

As for the new Zelda, i'm doing a media blockout tactic for it, and trying my best not to think about it at all until close to it's release.

Man, you'd be surprised how hard that is :lol.

I've been trying to do the same thing, but everyone you go pictures and clips just seems to pop up outta nowhere. I think I've done a good job so far, but I've still seen more than I want to. Its only gonna get harder to, especially with E3 starting tomorrow...

I still haven't seen the "new" trailer for it, so I'm resisting the temptation thus far.

It was playable???

Yes. They were actually 3 different areas to play, too. There was a part where you were in the town and I guess you had to herd sheep (I didn't try that part). There was a part with the horseback combat. I played that part and it was pretty cool. The third part was in the first dungeon. I played that part as well, and it was classic Zelda. There was some puzzle solving that was really fun.

The controls are really easy to get the hang of. It feels like a nice mix of the best things from OoT and WW.

thought i LOVE the windwaker some people that where impartial to the cube saw that and got the wrong impression.
