I need a little help: What are the Best Free Website hosting services?

^ topic. I am helping someone out with a list of these... and I know many of you have experience with the free web hosting domains.

1st.. what are the free web hosting services.
2nd what are the BEST ones?
3rd Which ones have the least advertising on them?

I'll try to find a good list for ya later, but if you need something simple and fast, and know how to turn off Javascript temporarily, then go for Geocities. The ads are all Javascript-related, so you can turn off JS for an ad-free experience.
 
could you drop their web addresses as well?

@ Kirby.... how do you turn off Java on the webserveR?  OR  do you mean.... the individual's computer that is surfing the web page.

I do appreciate the help!

The individual viewer must turn off Javascript, so if you're using it for webpage/file storage that's your best bet. Firefox has a mod that puts a checkbox for Javascript at the top of the page, if you'd like I can email it to you.
