I wish the DS were compatible w/ the old GB & GBC carts

Then it would be the ultimate portable retro device. You'd have the portable equivalents of the NES, SNES, & N64 all in one little device.

You'd think it'd have been easy to do.
 
No, the technology required to play those older games were getting somewhat hard to produce, and somewhat more expensive, in their old age, so putting it in would have jacked up the price of the DS.
 
It's kind of a shame that it doesn't, because I just started playing pokemon yellow again and I'd like to be able to play it on something other than my brother's Game Boy SP.
 
I just play those old games on my Gameboy Color(which is much less worn out than my GBA).
 
Hello everyone! New guy here. I agree it would be really nice if it could play the old gb games. Links awakening is one of my all time favorite games and it would be awesome to play it on the ds screen.

I also wonder just how much it would of costed them to do it.

Well, not really, they would either keep it the way it was, or poorly stretch it like they did with the GBA.
