IF Metroid Prime 2 is Multiplayer.....

And you'll miss out on all the great online experiences. Why not have both? If Nintendo would go online, then you could play the great single player games, and still play the great online games. What's so bad about having the choice?

Except that I never said I wouldn't play online games. All I'm saying is that the ability to go online (or lack thereof) has never been a deciding factor for me, personally. I love the fact that Halo 2 is online and that if I get Star Wars Battlefront for Christmas I can play that on XBL as well. But I'm not going to be like some people and not buy an otherwise good game just because it's not online. And I don't like how all the magazine reviewers now will dock points on XBOX and PS2 games if they don't have online.

The way I see it is this. It was a never a problem for me before that Nintendo wasn't online, why should it be now? Sure, it's capable of going online now, but it shouldn't have to be vital because they've survived in the past without it and produced some of the greatest games ever. I think this is just down to greed.

Also, i've never been big on online games from day 1, but if I was to be, i'd play a real online game such as Diablo or Starcraft.

Why shoudn't they? When a game has a rather good split screen mode, it should also be online, making the game even more fun. Not putting it online means it doesn't live up to it's full potential, so they dock points for not being everything it could be.

nah.. thats not right.

You shouldn't dock something like that.  They don't have to have online for it to be a good game.  Docking a game for no online is ridiculous.  I don't care what system its for.

They need to learn that "online" is not the standard yet.

Maybe its a push by companies to start getting more games online?  Ever think of it that way?

YEAH! or Warcraft 2.... or one of my favorites...... .. Delta Force: Black Hawk Down :D playing free online with that game is awesome.

I am a big online gamer... I could be considered bigger than most here. But I think online has its place.... and I don't want to pay for it period.
I probably have a good 90 PC games (I think 90.. including expansions) that are playable online. PC is different to me though. I want my PC to be a PC and my console to be a console. I play each one for a different reason. IE the PC gets incredibly massive games... that are upgradeable... and superior graphics.

Consoles.. I like them because they are not upgradeable.... games don't have patches..... they are GREAT to play with friends via a 1-on-1 basis (meaning your friends are in the same room)... anyway.... thats just how I think about it though.

I agree with Link. Games should be docked marks for not living up to their full potential. If I'm playing a single player game *cough*metroidprime*cough* and thinking "wow, this game should really have some kind of multiplayer to it" then I will probably dock it marks for not being a "complete package" so to speak. It just makes sense that online capability should be a factor in a review, if the game sports some kind of multiplayer. That way, with any luck, online will become the standard.

No, they don't have to be online for it to be a good game. But it's stops a lot of games from being among the best.

Come on guys! Are you serouisly saying that your ok with the fact that I'm not able to play any of you in some great games like Mario Kart: Double Dash, or Super Smash Bros? What about Mario Party? That game is really only good when you have people to play it with, it would be perfect online.

Grrr

I'm kind of half and half with multi. If someone really pisses me off, I can smack them, unlike the internet, where the best you can do is curse at them.
