A jerk how? Most people who are jerks are always jerks. Sometimes they are just better at hiding it.
 
Appealing to her will not work. Telling her what she needs to know won't work. She is in an emotional state. Really all you can do is let her fall, and pick her back up. Listen to her, but don't offer up any advice. Only give advice when asked for it. And above all else, don't come off as indifferent. If you are her friend, then be her friend.
