insane challenges

hello, my friends and i have been making a list of insanely difficult game challenges and are trying to complete it before we get old and lose our thumb functions. think of it as a nerdy bucket list. lol. so far we have:
Beat Zelda Ocarina of Time without any swords
Beat Zelda Ocarina of Time without any extra heart containers
Beat Mega Man 1-10 using only the mega buster
Beat each of the four Elite Fours (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh) with a magikarp
Beat Battle Toads
Beat Ghosts and Goblins
I was hoping some of you could help us add to the list or if you want to discuss one of the challenges id be happy to do that also :)

The FF XIII NCU challenge seems absolutely insane to me, I don't know how people do it-- the incredible amount of grinding to get money from items, and even then I don't know how they manage to beat some of the bosses.

I've been coming up with a crazy one to maybe try for a 2nd playthrough of Fallout: New Vegas when I get it-- the basics would be hardcore mode and melee weapons only (since ammo has weight, there is a bit of an advantage there in that; and, there are some good melee perks). Problem is, with stimpaks healing over time, you will need a stealthy build to avoid getting swarmed, and to be able to sneak up and attack. To make it more interesting, maybe throw in stuff like no companions, no skill books, and no armor (just regular clothing). :lol

It is a challenge where you don't use the way the game uses to level/increase stats, HP, learn abilities, ect. Even with using it, there are a lot of battles that are incredibly tough if you don't know what you're doing with the paradigms (strategy for fighting).

You'll never beat Battletoads. I'm not saying that to be a downer, it's just not possible. I don't care what the internet says.

Contra: Shattered Soldier for the PS2 is an incredibly challenging and rewarding game to just try and beat. No special conditions or anything, just try to beat it.

Beat Mega Man III in one life. I've done it. It's a challenge. :D

Try beating Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse. I won't even add limitations. That game is hard.

Ghost 'n' Goblins can be beat. I beat it back in the day. :D

What other games do you have for which to create challenges or achievements?

Seriously. Both of those have been the bane of my existence. Contra not so much, but still hard!

yeah battletoads has been thoroughly whipping me for years but i keep going back to it with roses in one hand and my dignity in the other. lol. you seriously beat mega man 3 with one life? wow, thats pretty epic. i own just about every nintendo game and a lot of not nintendo games but if i need to i can find a copy of a challenging game :p

also my brother has told me that beating the original Contra without the konami code will put balls on your chest and make you a man. is it physically possible?

The original Contra is insane. Only mutagenic cyborgs and A.D.D. Koreans can beat that game. Contra: Shattered Soldier is incredibly hard, but its also incredibly satisfying, and, more importantly, it's local co-op (was the original local co-op as well?), which means you'll do some serious bonding with whoever is playing with you. Trust me, you'll cling to each other like soldiers in a foxhole, praying to God you don't get hit. Once you've beat the game, you and your friend will always have an unspoken understanding, a mutual feeling of "I was there, and I survived. That's more than a lot of other good men can say."

So yeah, it will make a man out of you.

haha, just noticed your screen name is Brian Damage :lol

Another good challenge is beating River City Ransom without buying ANY item. I guess the sauna would be ok to use :p

The Ocarina of Time challenge without a sword isent really hard but takes a crazy amount of patients and self control because you could choose to hit the sword button at any time. lol
