There's going to be less exclusive third party games this coming generation. XBOX 360 thought they had Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion in the bag, but lo and behold, the PS3 is also getting it. GTA4 is launching at the same time for both the 360 and the PS3. Assassin's Creed and Mercernaries 2 will probably hit both systems. Those are some examples.
That will naturally cause first party games to be a bigger factor. Microsoft has an advantage over Sony with Halo 3, IMO, but when it comes to first party, none of Sony or Microsoft's first party series' have the clout of Nintendo's. Zelda, Mario, Metroid, and Pokemon come to mind as the biggest Nintendo juggernauts, and which system will house those? The Wii, of course. And the DS, but that's the handheld division.
