Is There Any Aspects From Any "FF" Title That You Disliked?

Out of all the "FF" titles, the one thing I hated the most was the treasure urns in "FF XII".I love the game, but c'mon, only getting decent items once in a blue moon. What the hell good is a "Hi-Potion" when your like level 50?

Do you mean "FF 2" for the SNES?

ok i am sorry kaz and anyone who grew up with the whole FF2 and FF3 for the SNES deal....but every time i mean Final Fantasy 2 i mean the NES Final Fantasy 2.... when i say Final Fantasy IV or VI i mean Final Fantasy II and III for the SNES... it's ok if in the old times people got confused on which FF was which but nowadays everybody should know that there's more than FF 1,2,3,7,8,9,10,11,12,13 and that there is a TRUE final fantasy II for the NES.

if you don't want to stop calling FFIV FFII then that's fine but just know for future references that when i say FFII is not the SNES american one.

and i guess you could say that's another aspect i disliked of FF games... the weird number changes in america

I dislike the way they change the battling system with each new game. They could keep the same system for me so that I wouldn't have to relearn in order to play. I just want a good story to play my way through. ::)

To be fair, they're all "stand-alone" games. But I know what you mean. They should have a set "FF battle system" that you can choose for all games, along with the new one.

Agreed. My favorite was probably FF7's system. Wish they would have kept that and just added to it, not changed it completely just for the sake of being "innovative".

I'm with you on that one x2.I loved the turn based battle system. If it isn't broke, don't fix it.A lot of sports titles take out a great feature, and at times put something new in that sucks, for as you put it"For the sake of innovation".Good point.

The battle system in FFXI and FFXII.

I thought for the rpgs, the system in X was awesome.

For the MMO, I'm glad they are totally fixing things for FFXIV. It looks like they are fixing everything that I hate about FFXI for FFXIV so I'm looking forward to it.

What did you esteemed members think of the battle system in "Final Fantasy Tactics"?I detest it.

Peace.
Kaz

FF Tactics is not a normal RPG, though, it is a strategy RPG. I personally love strategy RPG's. I like that you have to be smart and plan your fight, like a real battle. You can't win by simply button mashing over and over.

Was that Final Fantasy II ever really on the NES? I thought it was a Japan only release on the Famicon until it was re-released on the GBA Dawn of Souls Final Fantasy package.

And yes, there are some aspects of Final Fantasy games that I don't like. But they are far outweighed by the overall gameplay and story lines.

Touche, it was not NES but Famicon... however just to go "right back at ya" Final Fantasy II was released in Final Fantasy origins for ps1 before the Dawn of souls package for the GBA XD.

point stays the same though.... final fantasy II =/= Final Fantasy IV

an to be honest, the reason why i still love the final fantasy series is because they change the battle system around to keep it fresh... I am always the type of person who does not care if it stays the same or if it changes dramatically as long as it is still fun. (though i didn't find FFXI to be much fun FFXII took away hundreds of hours of my life)

That is a good point; I had forgotten about the Playstation FF Origins package. Since I did have Final Fantasy II on the SNES (a.k.a. FF IV), I always specify which version. I generally just refer to Final Fantasy IV now though to minimize confusion unless I am specifically referring to the SNES release, which did have some minor differences from the Japanese release.

Someone should make an FAQ about this and have it stickied.

I also think we should streamline the titles on the forum, e.g. when someone says FF IV, they actually mean the real FF IV.

Eh, sounds too picky. :D

I'm happy with calling it Final Fantasy II/IV, Final Fantasy II SNES, or Final Fantasy IV.

FFXII is the first FF that, to me, was 3D gameplay. The rest all seemed 2D-ish. They made the environments seem huge and I like it for that reason alone. It makes the game so much fun to play.

I wish they would make a version of "FF VII" souped up to today's graphics.I don't know why they won't.How can it hurt?I'd buy it in a heartbeat!

i disliked that XI was exclusively online. XII was way too different to get into.
